Can't speak for the original poster, but the Home Depot tile I used was 12x12 vinyl tile and came in boxes of 50 for around $40. The box says Congoleum Advantage and it is flooring similar to the those in commercial buildings. Comes in various colors so if you wanted to approximate specific Ferrari colors you could do so. I used vinyl tile adhesive spread very thin (otherwise the weight of the cars will make it seep through the tiles).

Great project, real easy to do, and breathing in all that glue makes for an interesting afternoon ;)

These vinyl tiles are the cheapest ones Home Depot sells. They're actually pretty thin and lightweight, but they seem to be holding up fine. I think I ended up using about $170 worth of tiles (which includes 2 boxes of spare tiles). A very cheap way to get a dramatic new look.

A helpful hint: By a paper cutter to cut the tiles when you have to trim around the walls. Much easier than using an exacto knife.

    That's me! Actually that's her...

Talk about rare; there are three times as many omnipresent Testarossa on the road as Reattas.

My wife's had two. Sold the first one after 210,000 miles. This ones a baby - 116,000 miles.

Grout? Grout?? No, no, no. We're talking cheap and expeditious here.
Just peel off the back and stick-em down. Then put the next one against it and stick it down.

I would not suggest making a super tight fit. I have a couple of tiles that were shoved a little too close together and are now wanting to buckle up.

I didn't know the other day that you had built the walls in the back like that, that's a great idea !

Well, yes it is. You've got good eyes! Laney would actually be happier if it were the stock muffler, but I think it sounds really good (of course).

The previous owner put it on and said it reminded him of the sound of a big outboard boat motor. I thought "?????", but had to agree when I hear the car start!

Those big tiles look good as well. Are those linoleum?

Not as easy as I would like - I went with the glue down vinyl tiles - My back/legs are killing me today - I'm too old for this! :)

Nice garage. Is the WHY RED plate your idea, or did it come with the car (assuming you acquired it used)?

    Sweet garage.

    Cheers,

Yep, it was the previous owners idea. He had the same plate in Mass.

I sold a red 86 328 a few years ago. My plate read "WO HRSY" and the new owner ended up using the same plate when he titled it in Virginia...

Yes, it took a visit to my chiropractor (and LOTS of Aleve) to recover from putting down the floor. But it's a good kind of sore, isn't it ! :)

Would you know if the the self adhering tiles are "easily" removed in case you ever sold your home and the new owner did not like the garage floor?

They seem to be. I have gotten one up with a putty knife and it didn't leave any residue..
