Hello all, i've posted a few threads over the past week, finally bought a Modena last Thursday and it just got delivered yesterday. I'm a Porsche guy and love the brand, a few weeks ago a friend let me drive his F355 and i got hooked, fell in love with the gated shifter and since then was determined to get either an F355/F360 since i'm the kind of guy that likes to put miles and drive their cars i went with the F360- Looked online and found a nice Black/Black 6speed gated manual 42k miles (nice & driven) with clutch just done last month amongst other services and major service done last year. This was the perfect car for me, seller was asking $90,000 but was a bit negotiable..The car was in Dallas & i am in Los Angeles, flew there, had car checked out by Norwood Italia (Great shop), concluded the deal and next day it was on a truck headed to me and i've been enjoying it since yesterday. First impressions, its a great car, and very forgiving for everyday driving it seems, and when you get on it, just wow- i'm very impressed, just love the sound of the Scuderia race exhaust..i need to take it to the canyons when i get to know it and see if it gives me the same rush as my 911s, my DD lately has been my 1991 964 C2 but i'm going to daily the Modena now, and if i feel its doable & i'm super happy with it, i'm going to keep it a while, we shall see. options: -Daytona seats, -Leather headliner -Scuderia fender shields -Front + Rear Challenge grille, -yellow painted brake calipers. -Ferrari dealer installed Scuderia race exhaust system with electronically actuated bypass valve -genuine Ferrari Scuderia ECU upgrade -telemetric capabilities (Data recorder Ferrari installed option to record lap times & such) *Never used as the car wasn't tracked -Updated immobilizer system - clear bra package on the front end -Double Din " touchscreen Pioneer display, JL Audio amplifier, JL Audio Subwoofer and premium Focal speakers. +1 on the clean looking double DIN head unit. I’d love to have something relatively plug and play with nav and Bluetooth to replace the factory Becker.
I was just thinking that too, definitely one of the best I've seen. Congrats on the new ride and on your 964 - one of my personal faves too!
Thanks all. I'm really surprised that people don't daily these (forget about effect on value because of miles) the car is so civilized for daily driving. Here are some more pics of the double din unit since so many comments about it. It looks and fits great, i wish it just a tad bit more flush with the curvature of the leather above it on the side closest to driver. Amazing how wheel color and tint really changes the look of this car. goes from lates 90's retro to updated look. Agree on daily driving..... IF you have a safe place to park.
Thanks all, thinking about installing the remote control exhaust valves for my race exhaust. Forza competezione i believe is its name.
Great looking car! From what little I can see of your tailpipes it looks like you have the Challenge Stradale (also known as the optional 360 Racing) exhaust system on your car. The gent you need to speak to for the exhaust controller is Steve Bisel at Forza Componenti. Top product, great guy. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
it could possibly be fiberglass i'm not sure, if its plastic then it is really thick and sturdy plastic. It was all done before i bought the car.
It is well done, and if that car has been a SoCal car for a while I might know who could have done that. Very nicely done
Awesome! Kudos and congrats... I too love the updated Double DIN stereo and the car looks clean. Enjoy to the fullest!
Hey guys, anyone familiar with unplugging the valves on the race exhaust system? i see the two tubes and unplugged one of them and noticed a nice diff in sound, if i unplug both do i need to stuff something into the openings of the little hoses or just leave them open like that and maybe tape them to the side?
