I got my car from Fantasy Junction. Whether it was on ebay or not, I don't know.

For me, the car is a perfect donor. Whereas it would be pretty costly to make into a nice streetcar.

You have to use the Piaa 80 series lenses in the pod the Hella ones are to wide and would sit in front of the headlights, I have a fibreglass front hood with QV vents, and a fibreglass rear engine cover

    Hey Jim,
Agree that the PIAA lights are slimmer than Hella lights. Actually they also have a pretty good reputation, so fine with me.
Never before noticed a difference between a 2V and QV front lid. Are any of you guys aware of 2V fibre glass front lids ?
The engine lid is already fibre glass ...and not broken, like my front lid :)

Jim, vouww... it certainly looks like a nice rally car construction you are putting together :) By the way, a quite serious group B experience you have already !!!
I would like to visit you within the next couple of months, I am sure we can share ideas or at least passion :) My group 4 project is quite different to yours, as I am more restricted in terms of which parts I am allowed to use. The brakes must be the AP Lockheed ones from their Classics Series.

YEPPER... VERY interesting question - let's know that !?!?!?!?

For info: the group 4 minimum weight for 3 litre cars was 945 kg - and THAT's my aim :) :)

When completely done, I will have a max speed of 200-210 km/h and with long 1st gear, and the remaining gears like something coming out of an animal at the rear end :)

    Accelleration should be explosive: 945 kg - Low gearing - 335/35-15" - 80% LSD = Wet night dreams :)

    Hi Morten
I live about 10 miles from Gatwick Airport,so let me know when your coming over and i can pick you up, will be good to meet you, the weight of the car I have no idea, you must remember i have added front and rear sump shields 2 fire extinguishers, roll cage and a lot of stiffening, i would be happy if i can lose 300 lb

Brilliant, that's only 1,5 hours flight from Copenhagen. Would it suit you to see me beginning of February ?

You say that you have added "a lot of stiffening" ... what did you add besides roll-cage and sump shields ?

Agree that 945 kg will be difficult to meet - however 1050 kg should be "easy" to meet.

Febuary will be fine, you have to strengthen the tubes and cross beams in the engine bay, and strengthen the pickup points where the A frames go through the chassis

Perfect, see you in Feb :)

Normally I weld the frame or body with more seams. I guess it comes more obvious for me where to strengthen the frame, when things are pulled from eachother. Sure also beneath the A- and B-pillars of the roll cage, as well as under the seats.

By the way, I will have to move or even construct a new seat mounting foundation possibly with additional tubes, because I'm quite tall :(

My issue is not the length of my legs, but the length of my upper body, meaning that my seat has to be mounted more or less directly at the floor.

    Hi Pete,

    Very good pictures THANKS !

Haven't investigated the Hawk pod - good idea :)

Is that Pioneer car a replica ?

Why, because it looks a little streedish, and has two wipers as well as key-holes in the doors - which is unusal for the Michelotto cars.

No, it's not a replica but the very first Michelotto 308. It does indeed have different details compared to the "production" Michelottos.

I would like to know how they remove the dash when the cage is welded in place?

After fitting the rollcage with the most possible tight fit - I will cut out in the dashboard like you might see on the picture !

Hi Morten and all at Ferrarichat, Happy new year,it started as the old year ended working on a Ferrari Rally Car, Good
Yes i have checked loads of photos and a detailed picture in a Boxer Book and they are the same, the trouble is here in the UK they want £800 for the motor, levers, and arm, i was going to try the USA to see if it was cheaper there as the doller is weak
