agreed i can't remember the last time i was that into a race. i didn't want to miss a single lap. i've never seen a race where so many team mates were battling one another.

as for ferrari, wow. they are just so bad and so far behind despite having two of the best driver's on the grid.

While I do think it was a great race to watch there were two things that really got to me.

It seemed like the teams all were closely matched to themselves. In other words, the Mercedes guys were racing the Mercedes guys, the Ferraris vs Ferraris, etc.
There was some good stuff from Williams and Force India...but the pattern was really team grouped.

Overall, it was fun to watch, but very NASCAR like.

The other thing is the statistic of how much fuel is left. That is the LAST thing I care about when watching racing. I don't care about MPG. I want RPMs, unknown fuel load, unlimited tire changes. Watching strategy play out is fun. If we know how much fuel every team has, then the teams obviously do....kinda takes away from the experience.

I will be honest and say that I am not a fan of this years formula, but will record the races and flip thru them.

Nico was pissed that Hami was still able to beat him on the slower tires. Hami showed his dominance with his race craft and his presence of mind. Hami owns Nico as well the rest of the field and you are going to have to deal with it! I am personally going to love watching the threads here this year.

Hami is WDC material. Nico isn't.

Lewis still readily admits Nico was quicker, hence he is studying him prior to China. It will be interesting to see if Nico were in first position if he could be able to keep Lewis behind him, tough call. I've never seen Nico so aggressive though so that's nice to see. Too bad he overheated his tires the last few laps.

As somebody else on here stated: He realized this is his one an only chance at the title, so he'll fight like hell. Kinda like Massa in 2008.

I'll be interested in seeing where this is by the halfway point in the season. Nico is fighting hard and has proven he is every bit as quick as Lewis so perhaps this WDC will just be a battle of who takes first position earliest and keeps their elbows out.

I would say he's proven himself to be every bit as quick as Hami but he's proven he can keep up. Looking at this year he still about 3 tenths off Hami's ultimate pace and if it was not for a bad engine in Hami's car at Australia he would most likely have 3 in a row at this point. I can't wait for the next race!

Lewis stated Nico was undoubtedly quicker and he is studying him (whatever that means) to find out why. As I said before, it will be an interesting season and they have both met their match. It will most likely be about who is better at keeping the other behind them and so far Lewis has the advantage.

What are you talking about? Nico is copying Hami's setups and studying Hami's telemetry. If it weren't for a bad motor Hami would have one 3 in a row.

    Source please?

There's nothing in the article you linked suggesting it's that way at all. They're saying it's a two way street, exactly as it should be. For all we know, Hami may be 'copying' Nico's setup.

    Cheers,

+1 and if LH's setups are working and Nico's arent-- He is a fool for not trying them. Like anyone is the total genius at all times in F1!

There has been intense focus on the inter-team rivalry at Mercedes with Nico Rosberg studying Lewis Hamilton's data intently. In the wet, where seat-of-the-pants driving ability counts more than anything, Hamilton showed why he is the better Mercedes driver. On his first run in Q3 he was 1.4 seconds faster than Rosberg and finished up 1.2 seconds quicker. Rosberg may have been up on Hamilton's time in his closing laps but made crucial mistakes at the final corner on successive laps - running wide and then spinning to bring out an ignominious Red Flag.

    OK. But....

TBH, I think I've got more faith in Fpilotos 'inside knowledge' of Merc than anything the clowns at PF1 have to say..... ;)

As has been said, unless the team is in total disarray (and they're not IMO), sharing telemetry is always a two way street. Hami *may* be the more 'natural' driver, but Isobels boy is no slouch. They'll learn from each other, which is good for them, not so much for the others.....

    Cheers,
    Ian
