FBB, I see what you meant by 4" , the MDS comes with 2" block that might not clear to remove the lateral bolts of the undertray. Either needs taller blocks like 4" . I will check this weekend to find out more. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks. I installed it first with my original ceiling and after decided to raise it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave, you might as well finish the job: projector, screen, ladder - with the lift remote you’d have yourself a full motion sim!!! Looks very impressive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ha-ha! Thanks. I'm considering blowing the back wall out and making the garage double deep but not sure it's an economical decision. If I do that, I will bust the entire floor, add a drain, do 6" and epoxy top coat. The lift would be moved to the back section. Probably better off building a new house
Knock through / connect and have it like a gallery! Next you’ll want a turntable... I worked with UK aircraft sims a few years back - you really could have a fun set up!! Very inspirational. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sark, A lift is a bonus but you don't have to have it for the 550. You can work with a 8ft ceiling just sit on a rolling stool when you work.
FBB, I just heard back from Bendbak salesman and he conforms your recommendation on 2 post lift if I have a room. Meanwhile I found out there is 6 " rubber block instead of standard 2" block for the other lift which I thing will give more clearance to take down the undertray. Both lifts are approved.
That's not bad. That gives you 52" and rolling on a stool you can probably avoid doing the hunchback. The rocker lift also gives you clear access with the doors. Only an Asymetric twin post will do that. so on the 550 undertray the plastic surrounds the jack pads. If you put the blocks there you can't get the trays off. There is really no good place to put jack pads. So I cheat and diminish the value of my 550 by cutting that small tab of plastic so I can just the ferrari jack points and slip the undertrays right out. You will see when you first try it.
Guys for what it's worth I have a Quality Lift, 4 post, and 11ft ceiling. I bought the longer ramps and the bridge jack. I use it quite a bit and am very happy with it.
Hello fellowchatters I have a simple question ..for those who have a hd-9 lift from bendpac, can you do me a favor and measure clearance between tracks and rails Appreciated Thank you Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
They do but even thier texh support could not tell me if that measurement included or excluded rails Nothing is that easy unfortunately .. I have the dimensions diagram but looking to get confirmation if measurement is inside rails or inside ramps Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login I have what I think is the best solution for lifting and working on everything under the car. It's flush with the floor when down, and lifts to 72". I’ve removed and installed muscle car engines, transmissions, rear ends, VW air cooled engines and transmission, and all the maintenance on my 360 Spider. Wheels, brakes, suspension are a breeze. Kinda looks like a land speeder on Star Wars.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Strange name, the meaning doesn’t transcend well. The brand is “Ever Eternal” when bought. Now they go by “EAE”. http://www.eae-ae.com/english/product/details-171.html I had to import the lift from China myself. It was a different experience, not a bad one, just odd.
After looking at the one from Greg Smith Equipment, I’m 100% sure EE makes them for him. The only difference is the price. Although it some time ago, I paid $1,650 for mine with $60 shipping to the Port of LA,?and another $350 to clear customs and deliver to my house some 200 miles away.
