My air intake sleeve has tears in the rubber. It is the rubber sleeve between the air intake and the air box.
Does anyone have one or is this part available? Should I look for an generic part from the general parts store (as long as the diameter is the same)?

Also discovered the metal clamp is missing holding the rubber sleeve to the air intake. I guess a generic metal clamp from Homedepot would do.

    Thanks.

Well, if the car is a late-production 328, the rubber/foam air intake duct has been NLA for quite sometime now. Some members have found a way to reconstruct one.

    My 328 is a 1986.
It is the rubber sleeve that connects to the air box where the air filter is. it on top comes from the side of the car behind the passanger seat.

It is a short sleeve/hose with a rather large diameter.

I noticed tears in the the hose. If the part is NLA I assume a selicone sealant may work but would rathe rreplace it.

    Thanks.

    That one should be available.
Starting in 1988, the plastic intake duct to the air intake proper was replaced with a rubber/foam hose.
So instead of a short rubber hose connecting the air filter box to the plastic duct, which lead to the air intake itself, the later production cars have only one long foam/rubber duct from the air filter box to the intake proper; this part has been No Longer Available for about ten years.

Yes, that is the piece. Thank you. I am not sure how much shipping will be to the US from the UK.

Many US suppliers carry that part. Ferrparts, Ricambi, rutlands/redparts. I believe several years ago I got one from Rutlands.

Just bought one from Superformance for 29.60GBP for my ‘85 308 QV. Have ordered from them in the past and shipping from the UK hasn’t been terribly expensive. Same part number.

I bought a 4 inch round rubber plumbing coupler from home depot for my '87 328 for less than $10 and it works perfectly. Even comes with two clamps.
