I actually learned of your company through you and learned of it's logo from your race car. I smile every time I go to the electrical aisle at Home Depot and see boxes and boxes of things with your name on it.

Thanks, Home Depot is important for us as its the biggest retalier for residential lighting in the US

We have a line called Progress Lighting that we sell through them.

I'd love to see the race car on the boxes :)

I had to buy a ballast for a flourescent light at home depot not long ago, and I looked for stuff with the name "Hubbell" on it but didn't see anything.. next time, I'll look for "Progress" :)

So which box should I check? The second option I think, but it's kind of confusing... I didn't actually buy. (Probably next time now that I know the name.)

I knew of Hubbell because it was the preferred choice for ac connections for hi-end audio. The fact that i met you was just a bonus.

Here is how your car changed my life. I get a little emotional telling this story...

I have a small summer home in the Saratoga NY area. The problem is, the house is on real soft land. I'm banging my head trying to figure out options, slab foundation, wood piers. Noticed your car, said let me see what hubbell does. As I'm cruising the website I see the AB Chance link. Now I'm looking into helical piers as an option to support the house. Only problem is, I can't find a local installer. But your car did get me to the website. I'm now just waiting to order my model Hubbel Ferrari for my desk.....

How about a calender for your dealers? In your industry you must have a ton of race fans. Do you invite dealers/distributors to your races?? How about sending the car out on tour?? Not sure if you are looking for ideas to get more return on the car but figured I put it out there.

OK, now I'm a real geek. I've read the 100 year history of the company. I was impressed you owned a Ferrari or two but now that I know your great, great grandfather invented the electrical plug and pull light socket I'm really impressed.

I already knew Hubbell because my sister-in-law worked for the company for years down in Virginia.

    William,

Before the Fcar or knowing of you, years ago i recommended the hospital or industrial-grade outlet for audiophiles. Seem that market has REALLY heated up nowadyas with 'more audiophile inspired' competition. Perhaps Hubbell could make something tweaky for audio/video philes?

If so, i am all ears as a member of the press and will tell others via our Industry News page. So how is THAT for trying to help promote da Hub :)

    Unfortunately, no impact.

However, it has made me aware of what we already have when it comes to some of your products in my datacenter at work.

My family has had boats since I was 2. Know the name since I was old enough to be resoinsible for un-plugging the electric lines. Hubbell OWNS the marine cable industry - the fittings, the cables, the dock box connections - EVERYTHING. Don't think that I have ever seen anything other than Hubbell fittings on any of the dozens of boats that we've owned or any of the 1000's of boats I've seen, worked on or walked by.

Got a new boat last month with your cables and connectors - of course. Big change though. For the first time we got WHITE cables instead of the standard yellow. I'm not so sure how great they will look in 5 or 10 years but we will not still have this boat by then and they do look great now.

It makes me happy to know that all those many thousands of dollars that have been poured in to electric lines, electric fittings, dock boxes, etc has gone to feed your Ferrari habit!

Having worked in the theatrical industry since college, I have always known of Harvey Hubbell's products. Their twist-locks are the standard connector in touring AC power distros. Frankly they are more expensive than others but higher quality.

Seeing the Slutmobile resurrected from the wrong style of pimpness has made me even more aware of Hubbell electrical products :)
