Well, those 37 people, almost all 308 guys, who bought these blanks from me are the lucky ones to enjoy the "early bird" offer ;)

The blanks were made inexpensive cuz the production volume is not that small. It's still a low production item and you need to pay the one off costs for the molds, sampling etc. Jim and I had a buyoff deal so his initial cost would be high cuz the batch isn't that small and I've satisfied a portion of potential buyers already.

I'm not really making profits here either, just made even. But making the key blanks available to the community and other owners of these old Ferraris is important to me as I see many people struggle to find a decent key for daily use or keep on using the original that was really worn and became fragile. And I guess some of you do know that some of those other alternative replicates have some issues if not done properly by an experienced locksmith.

It's been a lot of work for me to keep selling them myself, the messaging, packaging, payment, address confirmation, shipping, records etc. The labour cost of myself was too high :p So I think this buyoff deal will eventually benefit all others despite the raised retail price.

I was fortunate enough to purchase a few blanks from Steven. In my opinion, he was (and is) an impeccable gentleman - responsive, polite, and unfailingly courteous. He shipped the blanks immediately and packaged them very carefully. I am so very grateful for all he's done. I can't imagine he made much if any profit from this and appears to just genuinely enjoy the hobby, like the rest of us. The world needs more of this.

    My heartfelt thanks again.

    All the best, Ben

I was fortunate enough to buy an early bird supply. Steven was very kind to do all the work he did and make the keys available to us for a reasonable amount. Thanks once again!

Thank you guys, it's my pleasure to be able to contribute slightly to the community here :)

On the other hand, looks like the Torino/S.A.F.E. door keys can be negotiated too. If I make a deal later, I'll announce it in a separate thread a few months later. Don't PM me now please. Everyone in need will get some I believe. Just one question, shall I go with original brass material or the new nickel silver like the Neiman one? I tend to use brass for these.

    :D

Yes those are cut that's why the price. Actually I'm well aware of the NOS ones still available from different sources. Some eBay listing for uncut ones are being listed for a long time and each costs about $200:

There are places to get the uncut OEM ones for about $150 still I think. Thanks for the head up guys. But don't forget I'm just trying to make cheap alternatives for daily use instead ;)

Hah, I know they are cut. That's why I like them ;-). No telling if they came with the car originally or not.

It's my understanding that the door key is less unique when it comes to coding. So, easier to find a replacement with the correct code. Is that not the case?

    If I'm not mistaken...

    Torino/SAFE Codes: 2100-2309, 4100-4309, 6100-6309 and 8100-8309

    Neiman Codes: 11225-55332 A/D/F

I guess not as unique as the Neiman ignition keys but finding an exact match to your own is still challenging :)

I was lucky to get on the early batch. My Christmas gift was a set of keys and new keychain I don't have to worry about as much. Reproduction keychain and keys on the left, but my Dino cromodora door keys are real. Thank you Steven!

Oh it was me that won that original Neiman key on eBay... Scared of getting it cut in case it doesn't work!

That seller had sold at least 5 now, mostly with worn or degraded plating. He had a stash of the original blanks.
