I changed out my fuseblocks today [308 GTSi] and found an odd connection. Assuming it was for the radio [which I plan to replace] I disconnected it. It was soldered to the back of the #10 and #12 spades on the old block. When I tested the new blocks the lights no longer worked. I reconnected the wires to the spades and the lights worked again. It is a single wire with a splitter onto two wires and what look like resistors and then connected to the spades.

I am not that strong on electrical so what is this?

I do notice a difference BTW...for instance the blinkers are stronger, lights a tad brighter, etc. Also, the relays click louder. My one working window is a tad faster too.

Birdmans upgrade...one of the "required" upgrades. I noticed a change...just want to find out why this mod was made on the old [original} block.

I know everyone says to up grade the fuse blocks but mine are working fine, lights are bright, windows go up and down, locks work so I have no problem,or will I,I guess its like everyone says change the belts every 5k miles some go 6k,I think the wires your talking about that are soldered maybe they were to have jumpers?

Love the ride...I take her out at least 3-4 times a week for a spirited stint. I get a really cool "whir" at about 6 grand. Today I went out 3 times just so I could dust her off;)

Not sure what the mod was all about. Just put it where it was before and no problems...so far.

I have other issues. A mild leak on the rear cam cover and the right rear wheel bearing is getting noisey...not looking forward to doing these two but whatever it takes to keep things going.

Every 5-6 K ?? Are they that prone to failure? Sounds like overkill to me.

The wires were soldered to that back of the block. Looks like a repair on the wiring for some reason.

I was wrong about the belts I ment 15k-16k miles,I'm right now I'm at about 9k miles on the belts and hope to go about three years b4 I change them,I haven't driven mine in three weeks because of rain and when it stops the roads are still wet,my car wasn't seen wet roads and isn't going to either, under the car is like new and I would like to keep it that way,I did wash it and put the new carcover the wife got me for christmas b4 the rain came, now I'm looking for ideas to fix up the garage,I got some thoughts but it looks like it'll happen in spring after the rain stops, pic's will come after

Belts are 30k or 5 years according to the manual , that's soon enough.
