http://www.motorcycle.com/mini-features/patent-filings-reveal-details-2019-indian-ftr1200-production-model.html Heres an example of why Indian grows and prospers, while harley still struggles to find direction.
Is the engine proprietary to the marque and with most of the components manufactured in the USA. I believe a few years ago, the engine was a Harley motor - essentially platform sharing.
Its a total indian mtoor, before Indian was bought by polaris years ago there were a few made soemwhere with harley motors.
Never heard that.... I don't think it's correct. They used an S&S motor before they started using their own. There were a few with Royal Enfield motors, but that was decades ago.
I just bought a 2019 Indian Chief Vintage with the 116 Big Bore Kit. It puts out 105 hp. I have a CVO HD Road Glide, a bobber with a 111 S&S, and a Flathead Power 113 Knuckle Head. The Indian is by far the fastest of all of them. So far, it runs very smooth.
Man... I really want the new scout bobber. Seriously... Ive never considered buying a new motorcycle before but that bike makes me want one.
I really like the looks of the Indian FTR 1200 (Flat Track Racer) and was thinking about getting one this spring, but then decided it was too heavy, underpowered, and underbraked. I ended up getting a leftover Ducati Monster 1200R for the same price. Indian FTR 1200: 120 HP, 488 lbs (dry), 320mm front brakes Ducati Monster 1200R: 160 HP, 396 lbs dry, 330mm front brakes IMO the FTR talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk...
