    Thanks Saint -

I am in lower Fairfield County. Last time I was in Essex was to take the little man to Thomas the Tank Engine - it's a beautiful place. I think the largest Ferrari show in the area is Festa di Ferrari, held for the past 3 years at the Italian Center in Stamford, in September. Not sure if you've been - if not, might want to check it out next year.

Once I join the "club", I'll be there, that's for sure.

    Best of Luck.

Thanks Knight. Yes, the Porsche is a thrill, although let's be honest, it's a silver medal at best.

I love your story also. I hope you can make a person feel just as great too when you become a "member."

You wouldn't happen to know the serial number of that 512 TR, would you...?

    Great story, and welcome.

Sorry, I don't. I was from Kessler in NYC and I fell out of touch with them in 1995/96 - I don't believe he kept the car much longer however (he had a red Testarossa before the 512 TR) - I can't be sure, but it was likely an 1988-89 model.

I don't suppose you know who the previous or subsequent owner(s) of that yellow TR were, or if you're willing to disclose the name of the owner you knew at the time of ownership...?

Sorry, I don't know any history of the car beyond the period I described. The owner, as you can imagine, was pretty private and I need to honor that.

I can definitely appreciate that. Regardless, it's a great story, and I'm happy you shared it.

Great experience you had! I was bit by a similar bug and hopped into a yellow 355 F1 last year...

I was there at the Festa this year (and had the kiddos down to see Thomas in Essex!) The Hartford Concorso is as big or bigger than Festa depending on the weather. Shoot me a PM if you want the true Ferrari experience - dropping the engine out!

Thanks UCONN for the tip, I've heard about the Hartford event - sounds good. Dropping the engine sounds scary to me, a person who beyond detailing a car can't work on one at all.

    Go huskies!

Drop your local FOC a line. There must be someone who will oblige. Not everyone cocoons them for the winter. Good luck.

My dad is 80 and he never went in the last one, mainly as he has no real interest. I'm going to make sure he has a ride in this one.
