Also Carrera slots has announced a 1/24th 512S coupe. Waiting for pictures to see if it is good. If you have not seen them, these are nice slots with nice bodies. I have the 250 Breadvan, Maserati 4CL, 599 and one of the Ford GT's. They look alright. The Ford body is better in my opinion than the Fujimi since the Fujimi has to low a roof. The Carrera Breadvan also suffers from a low roof, but can be corrected to make the best Breadvan in 1/24th on the market. Avoid the MG, Mini Exotics and Fiotto breadvans.

Hi All, I'm new on here but have been an F car model collector for 30 plus years. I was wondering if anyone ever modelled any of the 1977/78 Dino V6 powered Formula 2 cars (Ralt or Chevron) or Minardi Fly281 from 1981? Also the Dantinne owned 308 GTB/4 chassis 22711 ? Preferably in 1 43 but hey, any scale would be great!!

Hi Tom; great thread! Can you tell me, is BBR no longer selling kits?? Do they only do built-ups now??

    Thanks

They don't list any on their website. Several of the European dealers seem to still get a few new kits in 1/43rd. I don't think they make 1/18th kits as not to many build kits in that scale.

Next up from Fernando Pinto FPM Modelo is the Lemans 1952 Mercedes 300SL winner in 1/24th scale and looks to be very good quality. Kit is now out and has full engine detail.

Also the 2013 China GP winner Ferrari is due out soon from Museum Models in 1/12th scale, for the brave!!!

Interesting how they refer to that race in France as the "Sarthe" 24 Hours.....

I actually got that kit and I'm almost done with it. Interesting yes but devilishly flawed. It became the biggest kitbash exercise I ever did. In fall I will travel to Europe where I found the RC version of this car: that will become the donor of the rear wing

When I'm done I will start a thread here about the build process. So few parts, so many flaws

1/12 scale is expensive because the kits are rare, at least what wasn't/isn't mass produced

I have seen over 1k for kits (e.g. the 81 F1 Ferrari). Anything from MG is now around at least $ 600. So the $ 400 kits from CMM are actually a bargain. And they are building models nobody else does.

    I can't scratch build but I can kitbash. :)
