Do you have any idea how to use a public forum??? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion (just like i did in my post) ....and then you go and contradict yourself by stating "but I like to make up my own mind" - i think your the one that is pretty 'funny' ... p.s agree with you on the gallardo...esp the rear end... looks $hite!
Because on FIRST IMPRESSIONS it looks crap! ...just like the 612 did (and still does) ..lowering and modulars? why do that from the start? that should be a personal preference not an attempt to correct styling! I wonder how closely ferrari look at their customer feedback and sales figures (can't imagine them being very good for the 612) and like i said the JURYS OUT on the 599. Also the reason i keep bringing in the 612 is because im talking about Ferraris styling of late.....the 456 was great so was the 550, the 575 even better! ....they were low, aggressive and had presence.....
Funny, I remember hearing the same thing about the 360 when it first came out. We didn't have F-Chat then so all the griping was done one on one, e.g., "how could they do that to the 355! Look at those butt ugly nose scoops." Also, keep in mind that pics don't cut it. I was fortunate that I saw the 612 in person before the pub photos. Even today, the car looks much better live than in pics. Dale
I think they do look at orders. Serveral on here have commented (most recently Napolis just yesterday) that they have been told by dealers that people have been placing orders and there is interest. Obviously you take that with a grain of salt, b/c dealers lie, but there is also proabably some truth to it. If it is true, then the jury can go on vacation because Ferrari's concern is that they sell out their production run. Take that for better or for worse, the ivory tower attitude is a little too aloof, but at the same time I'd hate to see them attempt to cater to the opinion of the masses, for which there is no consensus anyway.
I happen to think the 612 is beautiful. Especially in darker colors. It is low, long and very sleek. You just don´t like Frank Stephenson´s work, which is ok. I believe he has been replaced not so long ago by a guy (?) named Coco Donato.
Fair enough....but was the 360 an improvement on the styling of 355 (as the 355 was over the 348?) NO. Far from it! ..so no real styling gains there either. Point taken about the 612...but ever looked at one side on? looks like one blank flat sheet of metal wrapped over that never ending nose...truly awful.
HOGWASH!!!!!!!!!??? hahaha Why don't I also specify a new bonnet, and new lights too, and new front end, and new rear lights...... Did the F355 need lowering and new wheels? Did the 550? Does the Enzo? Did people wait to see the Miura in the metal - did the 250 GTO need a Fiorano handling pack??? puuuhlleaassssee..... The reality is that the 599 is THE most appallingly designed Ferrari EVER. Oh... and I'm not BITTER.. Grow up. It's not as if it was ME that designed the car or worse still, I've bought one... Gallardo looks crap to you? Great!!! I'm happy! Hate the Murcielago? Woohoo, I'm ecstatic. Love the 599? You must be blind. Either literally or figuratively (by your ridiculous love for the marque) !! YEAH BABY!!!!!
Let's see: There are lowered/corner weighted 355's on this forum that look great. Yes the 550 definitely needs new wheels The 250 GTO was the sport model of the 250 GT And Lambo people such as yourself do come off as bitter. Ferrari owners don't necessarily like all Lambos (proof in this thread) yet I never see them going out of their way to convince everyone, most importantly themselves, that their chosen car is better they way you and some *ahem* others do.
Why don't you just shut up? you obviously aren't interested in a fair discussion about the looks of the 599.
GTE.... HOW, with a picture of the most beautiful car of all time as your bloody avatar can you turn around and consider the 599 a beautiful car...??? I'm trying to remove the scales from your eyes man!! It's like when a 400lb woman comes on a US chat show and says "big is beautiful".... err.... no it's not... and I'm likening this 599 to big 400lb woman and the 288 GTO to Cindy Crawford. Chill out dude.... the car is NASTY! Tell me why you don't think so - I'm open to suggestion. Koby - dude - my handle is amusing... in reality, I actually have no allegiance to Lamborghini at all. BUT... I will say that the Murcielago looks better than every V12 Ferrari since the 512TR. (except Enzo/F50)
YUCK! Ferrari has totally lost "it". This sets it in stone for me. First the 360 wasn't anything special. Then the Enzo with the fake F1 nose. Then the 430 which was a minor improvement on the 360's looks but still not all that great. Then the Ugliest of them all the 612. Now this thing. It is as ugly as the 612. Maybe even worse. First of all they have the same head lights, nasty. The same looking front bumper. It looks like those cars on the Chevron comercials, nasty. Then there is the rear tail lights, or should I say light because they only have ONE on each side, nasty. Now for the rims, nasty again. They look like flipping cookie cutters. PLEEEEEEEASE get rid of the Japanese guy designing the cars.
Okay you need to stay out of the hemp store, cause you are high. This thing will never be as good looking as a 355, NEVER EVER.
Your post is what's absurd. Is it going to sell? Yes. Therefore, would Enzo Ferrari would have signed off on it. Have you seen some of the cars Enzo Ferrari signed off on? ew.
I'm talking about the ugly cars that they are building now, I know about the line up but it should then include the rear mid engine 12 cyl. model like back in the 70s and 80s. The top of the line sport car should have a 12 in the back and look good.
Yes, but that is YOUR opinion. Ferrari's intentions with its line-up are unequivocal. They do not want their top regular-production car to be mid-engined. Period. You do. But what they "should" or should not do is something that they've obviously given a lot of thought. You disagree with them, and that's fine. But I'm sorry, that doesn't make their decision "wrong." And as long as we're talking about what the top of the line Ferrari "should" or "should not" be, keep in mind that the 12 cylinder engine has been in the front on for more Ferrari models, and for a far greater span of time, than in the back. And that was where Enzo thought it should be too, holding out from producing the 250LM for as long as he could. It is clearly that tradition that Ferrari is trying to carry on today. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion on whether they "should" be doing so or not.
Dude if you hate it so much, don't look at it....and don't post here. It makes you look like a troll and a Lambo fan-boy if you ask me....
I find it mildly amusing that so much concern is given to the looks when none of us have a clue as to how it will drive, after all thats the primary reason for owning a Ferrari, at least in my opinion. Im not crazy about what weve seen so far either, but I am going to reserve my final judgment until Ive actually seen and driven one.
Well I agree with him as well....it's not "pretty" like a F355, BUT it has beauty in a aggressive way. You drive one of this things down the block and you will be noticed. It will have a huge street presense.... Not to mention be a awesome performer.
Well that's what they all should do.... God, I wasn't a fan of the F430 at all, but once I saw it in person I totally changed my mind. Sometimes you HAVE to see a car in person to see how the lines actually flow. A one-dimensional picture doesn't always do a car justice. And this is one of them if you ask me....
I don't consider the 599 a beautiful car. In fact, I've just said I'm still not convinced. But what if I did find it a beautiful car? What's it to you?
