I don't care what the performance figures are. That thing is so REPULSIVE it is really gonna hurt it's value. Give it a few years and you may be able to pick up a 599 at 400i prices. It ranks among the ugliest Ferrari's ever made.

I'd be willing to bet your wrong....it's sold out for like 2 years already.
Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean others won't.

Ouch, i think. JP the 928 still has its great performance, is considered by many to be one of the most timeless designs of all gt's and it sold 60K units worldwide in 17 years, good by f-car measure but not good by p-car accounting dept.

regardless, just like paul and his 550, i am more than happy with mine.

Yes true, but you can buy a 928 Porsche with mere pocket change nowdays.

JP does have a point. We all know the 550 Barchetta devalued like a heavy atom, we all know the 400 series devalued similarly and the 612 is targetted to do the same.

Good looking Ferraris do not devalue as quick ... and once everybody had got over the 'wow the 550 Barchetta is different' and realised how ugly and impractical they really are ... er, nobody wanted them. It is NOT how many orders that Ferrari have that dictate a successful design, but how well they hold their value in the second hand market. Their are too many rose tinted Ferrari loving fans ;) that would buy a rebadged Skoda if Ferrari sold them.

Heck I'm surprised they haven't started to sell 'Ferrari factory sewage' to the Ferrari starved blind rich ... fans.

THEN MAKE ANY COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS PRO OR CON.. BY THE WAY FERRARI DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN EITHER WAY THERE GOING TO SELL IT...

Even though caps lock had my eyes running from your post the momoent I regarded it, I agree with the gist ( I think ? ) of your post. Everyones opinion is bound to change, its going to grow on us.. or we are going to pretend we like it because it would be upsetting not to fall in love with Ferrari's new V12. I think the design will look great in person but Im the first to admit the styling wasnt what I expected.

    Just found this article:

    http://www.sniffpetrol.com/index.html

CAR DESIGN IN GOOD LOOKING CRISIS
The motor industry was in shock last night following news that all good looking car design has been 'used up'. The startling discovery came following the unveiling of the new Ferrari 599 which, even by the dubious standards of modern Ferraris, is pretty ropey. "It is true," wailed one of the CAD/CAM jockeys who worked on the 599 project. "When we started the car we went to the 'attractive design' cupboard and we were shocked to find that it was completely empty. Our only solution was to instead take as many design cues from old cars as possible along with some elements from the 'currently trendy but ultimately rather hollow and derivative' shelf and use those instead. This is why the car looks like, 'ow you say, the 'dinner of the dog'. Or, to put it another way, '****'".

WHOOA! Methinks me spoke to quickly. That looks serious. This is going to be interesting, very interesting.

One thing is clear, "it ain't no Vette!" LOL This photo silences all the critics and naysayers. Even with the pentagram wheels it's sharp and unique.

    Many thanks,

Yeah, that colour and that angle is not too bad ... thus as long as you are always following one it won't be so ugly. It also does not have the elongated look of the 612 that is just unbearable.

    Very Mustang looking ...

Fugly!!! The yellow one looks like a Fiero kit car version of a late Corvette and the black one looks like the Batmobile!

I like the Maranello design (except for the stupid smiley face grill opening) and it's a fantastic driver. I'm sure this new car will run circles around the Maranello but it is not pretty. Just like the Enzo, it's not a harmonious, cohesive design. There are lines going everywhere. It's just not sexy.
