Let’s see how that works our for them. I still feel like the car is undesirable against its competitors. Only thing going for it is that it’s numbered.
regular nsx was impossible for dealers to move. 30k discounts so theyre hoping to make it back up with type s. probably will not happen but otoh, look at viper acr. sat 2 yrs unsold on lots and now used + double sticker. original shelby cobra same story in 60s so never know
This raises the question in my mind of how many variants of the NSX will there be in 2022? Just the Type S, or both the regular carryover NSX model and the Type S? I haven't been able to determine from the articles I have read. IMHO, the new bumpers are a big improvement and if there are 2 varieties of NSX, would the base NSX also get the new bumpers. Makes one wonder why Acura didn't just make the original NSX better looking to begin with? Here is a comparison between Type S on the left and 2021 NSX on the right: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree. The old front bumper was way too mass production plastic looking and feeling. The new front looks more Lambo.
I'm coming at this from the point of how Honda could afford to absorb what has to be a sizable tooling cost for new bumpers over just 350 cars. Seems like the Acura bean counters were asleep at the switch on this one.
I have a Gen 2 and had a good relationship with one of the NSX Specialists The bumpers were developed years ago for a refresh it looks like Honda decided to pull the plug on the program early and let the engineers tweak the car a bit For this final version and of course used the new bumpers The oddest item for me is the move to Pirelli I was told years ago that Michelin’s had issues because the wheels do not slip on take off due to the traction system and the Michelin’s tested chunked out rubber The Contis did not have the issue and Honda launched the car with them and Conti did next Gen tires for the NSX a couple of years ago Now they dump Conti for a single year run with Pirelli
I think it's been an under appreciated car. I know the arguments but I think it's just made very well and dependable, and thats something. I do like the fact that they are so rare. The complaints today remind me of the 90s. Guess it's great that everyone doesnt all love and get the same car or it'll be a pretty boring scene out there. Currently in line trying to get a type S. My dealer gets 2 allocations but Im certainly not special enough for one, so that'll mean I get thrown into the waitlist for the 200 after the allocations are filled... fingers crossed.
Best wishes toward gaining an allocation kind of crazy to me that a car they struggled to sell 10 a month in the US garnered this much interest at the end that being said it’s a really fun car that is easy to live with
Many of the dealers who signed up for the program are under water on their investment, due to $175k in equipment, supplies, training at the outset Including the 1 Model S allocation the dealership I purchased from will have sold 4 total I believe part of the reason they did the Type S was to give the dealers one last stab and grab
Hey Guys, Just had a customer cancel an order for some Red powder-coated 2017+ Charge pipes. Figured I would offer them to you all at a discount, $250 + free shipping. Shoot me a PM! Image Unavailable, Please Login

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2005-acura-nsx-19/ A 16K mile 2005 Orange/Orange 6 speed went "live" today, and is already at $177,090 USD.
I'm watching that auction for grins. I think the last of the NSXs in the vibrant colors are the next big thing. Honestly I prefer my simple 91 but wish it was a funky color not just black.
All hail the first generation ! https://jalopnik.com/acuras-original-nsx-is-still-the-simplest-automotive-jo-1848129866?utm_campaign=Jalopnik&utm_content=1638300604&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0SPFWeuu3LQE5ib-giaZ_ZN9WaPRbTmlsi6HKZjQOsVJl2my9i5kTXACA
Modified Zanardi #30 on BAT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-acura-nsx-21/ I have a Basch centrifugal supercharger stashed away among the projects that will never get done. IMO the Basch and the first Comptechs are / were period correct so excusable. Basch's would blow motors because of the horrible fuel control units of the day. The car for sale has the BBS rims but I much prefer my Technomagnesios. Magnesium = SEXY ! v Not my car but the same look.
