    Hi all,
Do you know if there is a correct OBD tool available for our cars?
Coming from the Pcars I'm confortable with the Durametric which is not the Piwis but very useful, such a tool would be great for Fcars.
    Thank you,
    P.

I believe the launch Mini covers the FF and f12 ..

Haven't tried it on either one but worth a look

Fir a reader only ..the ap200 also states coverage .. pretty inexpensive for one car

What are you using it for? I have an OBDLinkMX to read codes on my Lusso. Got it on Amazon. Works just fine as I needed it a couple years ago when my exhaust was throwing CELs…

Just another note - tool that is also from launch but a great value for 1 car is the Thinkdiag ..

Just be aware both launch products will need subscription renewals

The AP200 is lifetime for one car but again just a great reader

I have no cells for now but had sometimes weird things and would like to know the defaults recorded in my ECUs. The closest dealer is about 60 miles ago, not so much but too much for only defaults reading.
I love to monitor my Pcars sometimes to be sure all is fine, for example lambdas, fuel trims, no knocking, IAT, EGT, camshafts synchro, fuel pumps and other things...
And would love being able to do that with my Fcars.
What does your OBDlinkMX do exactly? Reading codes and erasing codes? Monitoring sensors? I'm gonna search on the net, it is perhap's a good start!

I made a quick search, do you speak about the Thinkdiag AP200 or Autel AP200?
Some guys talked me about the Launch X431Pro, any advice?

If you just want to read data from.various ecus without resetting, activating anything etc ..the ap200 from autel is great for one car .. no subscription

    It will clear codes

I use it just as a code reader. It will clear them but I usually let the O2 sensor codes play themselves out…..

This site now needs a thread with reviews of OBD tools for the F12/812 mid-fronts. Videos of them in action. The good and the bad. What they will do and won't do.

Ok, so I'm gonna order one Autel AP200 for beginning.
Ability to read the sensors, codes and clear cells is ok for now.
I can't hope to synchronize gearbox, initialize TPMS and others advanced functions for 75$
but still interested to do it anyway...
    Much thanks

The next step would be the thinkdiag to do some of the other things you mentioned but that is going for around 130 for one car for one or two year then subscription after that

I’m looking to get an ODB2 tool too for reading and potentially clearing codes on a Lusso… when I look at these tools none of them seem to cover Lusso’s (also 488 is missing and 812).

Any suggestions for Lusso’s? Maybe they do work just not “supported”, does anybody have real world experience with them on a Lusso? Is it just all the “newer” models that are not supported yet?

Not looking to go crazy here and buy a Leonardo type of tool… more curiosity driven usage than full on reconfiguring anything.

    Launch:
    http://qcar.x431.com/qcar/#/pc/detail?series=1&car_type=2&soft_name=Ferrari&package_id=FERRARI&ver=11.02

    Thinkdiag:
    https://thinkdiag.co.uk/coverage.php

    Autel:
    https://www.autel.com/vehicle-coverage/coverage2

Carly (no F coverage at all):

    Foxwell (incredibly bad website):

The launch and Thinkdiag are the same device however the version of software is currently i believe V10.95 not 11.02 like the x431, they can get the latest update a little later sometimes than the x431 and other launch professional tools but in essence they are the same device with very little difference between them. The cost of the Thinkdiag is however what makes is so tempting with the two year full software version less than £100 from the site mentioned above thinkdiag.co.uk

The Autel is another good choice but likely to be more expensive than the Thinkdiag but similar priced the the launch tablet devices. With autel the ap200 is no good as it does not support bi-directional support in the hardware chipset and is really limited on the special functions that can be performed. If i remember correctly the only resets available are the listed maintenance software. Your best with a device with as many special function as possible listed under the car brand itself.

Carley is not really that good when compared to your other options and neither is foxwell.

In summary if you wanted to keep the cost low i would go with the Thinkdiag, if you wanted to spend some more money to have the updates quicker i would go for the Autel or Launch but only the pro tools not the DIY tools.
