2735GT, and many other SWB similarly now dressed with wider wheels, would be more attractive in my view fitted with period original specification wheels, which were narrower and of nicer proportion. Compare to stance of 2689GT above.
I tend to agree with Lancia about wheels. It may amuse you to know that when I imported 2689GT it had 3 different size wheels (and was thoroughly trashed in every way). It had been bought by a Roman for his young son as a driver; if you know anything about traffic in Rome you'll understand the dents everywhere. Nice to see it in the hands of a real enthusiast now. He gave me a ride in it a while back, it was as I remembered it. Open the throttles and it coughs and sputters until you reach 3 or 4000 RPM. Then hold on as all hell breaks loose.
The first series cars were fitted with 16-inch wheels. These are the best looking of all the SWB's with the more attractive nose. john
Stumbled upon 2689 today. Kudos to the owner for ripping it around Los Angeles. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wonderful sunny, about 3 degrees Celsius, zero snow. Yes, and red book classiche certified as well. Marcel Massini
No meeting as Christmas diner for vintage cars? Here in Spain, they do that, the small error was the parking... Full of new cars, the old lady was a Mondial T. Now the dîner was spectacular!
Very low number (sn), the body looks to have some differences with others series. In fact, the car looks ore simple, more pure I want to say. I will try to see a picture for the front car... By curiosity
Thank you Marcel, Scaglietti was a King.. you can notice his "savoir faire". More is simple and more difficult is to do it. The fluidity of line is spectacular. Always in Mexico?
