Matthew. The picture you have posted is taken from a very similar angle to mine. I think that the driving lights make a big difference to the look of the front end. I cannot decide though if the grill is the same shape in both pictures or if it has been changed, and if it has changed by how much.

The picture you posted that was taken in Rome seems to show a much wider open grill on 3605 than the car next to it but again this could just be the difference made by lights and bumpers.

I think that your post of SWB 16 makes the car look very different to mine of TSY 260. Perhaps this is just because of the lights, the FOC and ACM badges, and a different number plate. I do not like the picture I took of the car and could perhaps have done it more justice from a different angle. I hope your Dad was pleased with the final result.

    Robert

Christian, thanks for sharing these old pictures.

Can't help but notice that this thread is very Eurocentric so far. With all those lovely cars across 'The Pond', what about it US based F-Chatters?

Yes he was very happy with it. He did some 14,000 miles in it during his custodianship including several continental tours. Perhaps not surprisingly of the 30 Ferraris he owned over the years it was in his top three but I think one of his 365GTC4s was actually his all time favourite.

    Dear John

It was just the individual air intakes that were removable.

Pictures taken by me at Goodwood in 1983.

What about the car today? Does it keep this tuning? Who makes this transformation,
    Ferrari?

No Christian, it has a standard nose. The only remaining feature is a pretty horrible (IMHO) metal SF shield on the left front wing! I will try to find my photo.

I don't know who did the work. Mark?

I don't think it looked so bad 'In the flesh' - it was different and made the car look more aggressive. And of course, the mod was done when the car was quite young (1962)

This is how it looks today (not my picture)

Am I right to assume the first photo is taken at the factory ?
If yes, I find it interesting since I've never before noticed small (retrofitted?) wall/window A/C units in other 1950s - early 1960s photos showing the factory building.

And yes, the Berlinettas in all photos look magnificent !
