Carbed cars are 10 deep in FML. QVs are difficult... ask me how I know.

Check the Hagerty valuation charts. They started taking off about a year ago and are up around 25% plus. I updated the insured value of mine as a result. If you want to see something really crazy, check out the value of the Lamborghini Countach recently. Now that is nuts!

    Price Guide Report

There is an 86 328 on eBay for $100k...and my 85 308 is in better shape with awards. That said, I would not sell mine for less than $100k :)

GTB's and low mile examples have shot up. Carbed cars have never really been cheap IMO.

An "asking price" does not in any way define the market, and Ebay certainly does not either, but a lot of cars go through there and if you check out the completed listings regularly you will notice lots of unsold cars and cars with high opening prices with no bids.

The 308 market is on an uptic, but it hasn't gone crazy yet. Of course everyone can thank me because right after I sold mine (cheap) in july 2013 prices started rising ;)

More of them for sale right now. I've been offered half a dozen '76-'77 308s. No late QVs.

The number of vehicles produced may be one of the indicators of longer term availability:

Your numbers are not consistent with what I've seen elsewhere. For example the 328 production numbers are usually quoted as GTS 6,068 and GTB 1, 345 for a total of 7, 413. What's your source?

His table is consistent for the whole 328 "family", that is including the "Turbos Intercoooler" cousins from Italy.

    There are in fact:
    - 6068 328 GTS,
    -1344 328 GTB
    - ONE (=1) factory build full cabriolet, which has a VIN.
That is 7413 328 with the 3,2 litre naturally aspired engine

    PLUS
    828 GTS Turbos Intercooler
    308 GTB Turbos Intercooler
That is 1136 Turbos Intercooler, which have the 328 Body.

    7413 + 1136 = 8549 cars.

Do the 308 figures include the 208?

Consistent with what's on offer now. 328s are available; carb'ed 308s are available.

2Vi's seem to be more available than QVs, though.

The only number I care about is 1985 308 GTB QV, 201. Anyone know how many are US cars? I've heard numbers between 50 to 75. I know it is greater then 50.

    Certainly!
    Even slightly more than that, because 5404 + 3790 + 3224 + 808 = 13226

    I have 12149 Ferraris 308 of all versions produced, + 300 208s with 2 litre aspirated V8 + 687 "208 Turbo"s for a total of 13136 308 of all versions.

So I have 90 cars less than him, but you may know that the number of carbed GTBs is not known with certainty; see Robert Retzlaff site for instance.
Totals given for carbed GTBs vary indeed for "about a hundred cars" between the most "conservative" number, and the most "optimistic"...

take out an "n" from Pinifarina. The name was Sergio, the surname was Farina, he was called "Pinin" by his friends: that's why the firm name was Pininfarina.

I do not know what you paid for your GTB dry sump, but i think it worths all the money and maybe something more. My 308 dry sump will cost 65-68 k euro (85-88 k USD) when will be ready and the car is not at the level of your one.

    ciao

As far as I know, the family name was changed upon the wish of Sergio's father Battista, who was called 'Pinin' because of his rather small height. This happened in 1961.

Pinin is diminutive in Italian. He was the youngest, so the baby of the family...

If you know of any nice red/tan 328 (preferably '87 or newer), post them up. Maybe I need to reopen my Wanted add.

I know Marshall Goldman has a few but they are not red/tan. Also working with M. Brandon. But other than that, I can't find any nice red/tan '87 or newer 328 with a solid service history. They all seem to have the belts recently done but no records of anything else before that.

As far as values, this was predicted years ago. When everything around has hit $200,000 and higher, a $30,000 308 or $45,000 328 didn't make sense anymore.

I'm curious, what do you find to be unacceptable about 1986? I'm not aware of any changes between 86 and 87.

Some, if not all 86' 328 did not have ABS brakes...which I like anyway, one less thing to break or go out. .....

Three on DuPont, but priced high:

    Ferrari 328 For Sale - duPont REGISTRY.com

I let my FML subscription lapse due to no action in the 308 section, but there were a lot of 328s listed last month. Probably worth an online subscription if you're on the hunt for a nice 328.

No ABS until MY 1989, IIRC.

Apart from an A-arm recall on the '86 cars, not sure they're significantly different. 328s were well-sorted from the start.

What year was that car? Thought it was an 87 from Sport Auto but not sure.
