As quality takes time.... "B.R.M. volume 4" and "Enzo Ferrari - the photographic biography 1898 - 1988" will be fabulous books.

You're very late to the party on this one. Yes, definitely worth buying.

If you search this thread there is information on both the standard version and the deluxe version as well.

I'd go (and did) for the standard version but I know you like special editions as well.

Hi Mark, Thanks to you and the other fellow FC members for your advice! I instantly ordered a mint copy of the standard edition which I had found in Germany at Matthias Disch's shop.

Yes, Mark, the Deluxe Edition would be my preferred choice as it has been produced to such an incredibly high standard. But buying one would require availability (it's years since a copy has been sold) and a sharp turn in my fortunes at the National Lottery (provided I would take part). ;)

Chaters is offering copies for GBP40.- In case you plan to visit Techno Classica next month, they can bring a copy without any charges. But as said before, it’s an excellent title, and I would always go for the ‘poor mans’ edition.

It is a wonderful volume, thanks for encouraging me to open my copy again. Chris Nixon was very special...Mon Ami Mate set standards that very few will ever match.

I thank you too for your recommendations. I somehow missed this book previously and enjoyed Mon Ami Mate. Interestingly, Chaters charges less for shipping on the US eBay site.

More pix of that Chris Nixon book in the large metal gas tank cover.
Inside the left door opening is a softbound text only book so that you don't really have to take out the several kilos heavy large leather covered book.
    Smart idea.
These rare books are individually numbered, mine is #040. Each copy also comes with a certificate.

All leather work has been done by Schedoni, who also provided a green linen cover for the tank and a red bag for carrying and storing this fine piece of art.

On this pic the certificate is missing and the linen cover by Schedoni is usually yellow, not green.
As for the red bag...........My book did not come with this and I bought it brand new directly from Brandon Wang.
Paid 12 Grand or similar, cannot remember anymore, money went to some charity organisation.
