Will be interesting to see since there is nothing older than a 1994 on there currently. As a matter of fact, not much for old Lambos in quite awhile.

    "How about a 5 handle...do I hear 6...6 and 1/4....7 do I hear 8"

By the way I find it funny how some of the same people who were arguing with me that the Anniversary was a $90,000 car just a few months ago are now leading the charge higher.

    Maybe I should take a 2nd mortgage out....lol.

This is Countach Mania at it's finest. I need to pitch a tent and charge admission. When I start to see the smart money releasing their garage queen delivery mile Countach after holding onto it for 25 years, I will sit this dance out.

It comes with fuel injected toilet paper and hand soap signed by Balboni.

Iconic Car no doubt. Love it. Just think the price is moving faster than a speeding locomotive.

The gloat is misplaced. I take it you already own a 25th? You can't possibly be serioulsly in the market with a post like that.
Those who mentioned the 90K/100K based it on past years sale and trend. You just happened to be looking more carefully at the time things took off.

Seeing 25th models at over $300K (not being the new 100km cars) is not normal from a past trend pespective. A year or so ago these cars were 1/2 the price. Most of it may have little to do with the countach itself. The question is where will it settle.

Remember,if you had that much foresight, you would have bought a house in the Hamptons. I just read that despite a not so good average housing market, the high end over $7MM houses there have increased no less than 56%!!

So does this means the Hamptons were such a bargain 1 year ago?

Also see the BB512 being prices at $350K and the non glass 308GTS not reaching reserves at almost $50K.
Gene got his 365BB, a much desirable car, for much less than not even 1 year ago!!
It seems to me expensive things all around are on fire and average things are very dull. that is a real concern for sustainability.

I think that while price increase is great for all of us, that much crazyness for long term owner and non dealer may not be so good.
Maybe we should wait to see how the story ends?

Money has lost value (purchasing power) over the last few years.

In reality, you probably did not make a 50% profit, if you add everything up.

While you are at it, make sure to add up maintenance costs, interest (if you finance), and other additional fees.

The $300K F-40 from 1994, is worth X amount of dollars today. Make sure you also include the de-valuation of money, when you go to your wife with the #'s :D. Sure you made money with your Countach purchase or other collector car. Did you really make a 50% profit, in three years of ownership ?

One thing most owners who talk about increasing values seem to forget is that they have nothing until said asset is SOLD and the profit funds are sitting in their account. This may seem an obvious thing to point out, but there is a lot of "Ive made xyz" talk being bandied about, and this applies only to people who have successfully disbursed those assets at a profit.

    Carry on gentlemen.

Rememebr the Barett muscle car fever, this is the next thing, or and alternatively, 12 cyl Italians are really expensive. Go back tot he 60's and what can you get for less than 500k, so maybe boxers and Cts are 300k+ cars now.

they well may be. But then why weren't they 2 years ago? that is my point.
The trend is not normal. Things that double and triple in short period of time dont end well. that is a universal proven truth (tulips, market, bitcoin, binnie babies,etc...)

For sure. But there is a difference between:

    1) Correct value for the time>double->triple
    vs
    2) Under-valued->double to correct value for the time->triple

"Undervalued" brings opinion into the conversation and implies that the market values at the time were wrong.
