    Isn't every sale an "opinion"?

As far as undervalued, that was the opinion of many over many years in these threads.

So the 'experts' knew better than the buyers and sellers who were actually making the market values at the time. Interesting.

Some "experts" are also buyers & sellers themselves.

Right. So as one of the most active countach brokers/buyers/sellers in recent history, were the market prices incorrect for, say, the last twenty years?

There is still plenty of interest in these old cars. Mine just won 1st place today in the Italian section of a car show with 40 other Italian beauties. And two different guys, one of whom I think is a broker, asked me to contact them if I ever want to sell. No price mentioned. I wouldn't even know what to expect the outcome would be. But I laughed when the second guy shoved his card through the window that barely opens. But I had a lot of fun today in the bull.

I know what you mean John! I've had calls from various folks asking if I was interested in selling. Who knows if any of these are serious, but it sure is nice to have a car that everyone wants!! LOL!!!! I had mine out today for the weekly E@RTC event. Funny thing, even with the new Lambo's surrounding mine, everytime I looked over, the crowd was always around the Countach. :)

the person I purchased mine from made me an offer to buy it back.
lets see what happens to the Diablo market now that the Countach is hitting its strides.
The heir apparent great value v-12 has been languishing.
I predict a surge within the next year as the scarcity of Countachs will put pressure on the Diablo market.
Yes, you can say you heard it here first.

Have followed the '99-01 market very closely the past 2 years in anticipation of purchase....they have been rock solid, with a slight uptick this year. I agree, the late models will start gaining momentum soon.

A friend just received a call from Canepa regarding the 3 cars they have coming in...$500K+ for the very low mile white Anniversary, $350K for the black Anniversary...$375K for the 87.

Simply put, IMVHO, I would say that for the most part of the past 20 years (from 1994 on) the market has appeared undervalued, and that for the last year or so the market has appeared overvalued. The operative word is 'appeared', because, at the end of the day, the market is the market, whether we agree with it or not. My opinion has been consistent as it can been be seen that during the period I thought they were undervalued, I championed their cause, and in the last year or so, I have expressed caution. By the way, an opinion about the market is quite important for a specialist, as it is the basis upon which some people do business with me. I try and remain responsible, objective and dispassionate.

Agree totally. It is this type of pricing that will cause the bubble to burst IMO. But what do I know?

Thanks Joe. Your opinion carries a lot of weight. I'm certainly nothing of an expert but I do believe that there was enough ongoing buy/sell volume over the last twenty years such that the market acted efficiently and appropriately and the prices were simply accurate.

Remember, I have always said these cars should be 500k and above. They are more unique than most. if not all, exotics.
However, I would have preferred a little slower rise for stability.

Joe hit the nail on the head: for years, undervalued.
Maybe if they were NOT undervalued for so long they would be where they are now and higher.....without worry of bubbles.

My good friend's flying mirror is absolutely perfect. I love it. Here is the pic I captured yesterday. In vintage 80's photo mode on my phone.

F40's are in the $1,000,000 price bracket, 1,400 units produced worlwide. Countach in all its variations are 2,042 so don't be astonished if it goes to half what the F40 are in at the moment.

F40 is about the best modern F car ever produced.

When compared to L, a lot more people follow the F marque.

I thought the worldwide CT production was about 1,200........2,000+ is more like Diablo numbers (2,800).
