It's the same 88.5 non anniversary. It's actually the serial no before the blue one.

We refer to the blue one as a 88.5 because that is the "VERSION" of the countach that it is
ie digital climate control and lower side vents, but some don't know that it was built so late that year that the "L" in the vin number actually means that it is a 1989 my.

K denotes the model year 89, not the L, as 90 car are LLA while 89 is KLA

If the condition of the car is mint, I feel your low and driving the market down. Most likely from a buyers perspective.
My perspective is an owner, so we obviously will see it differently.

 

'Very original' may be the concerning issue. If maintenance is up to date many mechanicals will have been updated.
Should this be interpreted as stock condition.

I am not a buyer.
Seeing all these low mileage 25th cars available. Many for several years.
They just seem to not sell very easily.

I was estimating the 125k range (at least...mint) as it may not be the most desirable c/t, but its a c/t none the less.
Jason, (topcarbon) I have a 1700km anni. example that Isn't for sale, but I would be glad to let you view if you'd like for comparison sake. There are two other c/ts close by to me that would most likely welcome you to view also, But I obviously can't offer those, but will gladly make some calls to attempt to arrange it.

 

Jollygood, I'm glad you don't agree and have stated that. We wouldn't have such a great site if we all had equal opinions on everything.
I don't want to see pissing match start, some of those go to elementry levels and can ruin the best of threads.

 

I'll throw a number out there... $110,000. This is based on the fact that a car this old with 4400 miles will need the engine pulled and have to be resealed so plan about 10grand worth of "repairs". Records and up to date mx don't really matter if it just sits. What maintenance do they keep up to date on these cars that are never driven? oil changes and alternator belt? What about the old coolant that corrodes everything with age or old brake fluid that absorbs moisture? Plus you have to put some thought to resale.. there almost always seems to be more Anniv cars more readily available than any other model and high production numbers. Having said all that, once everything is refreshed and they are put on the road the few i know of have proven to be VERY good cars.

 

Ken your absolutely right. I can only speak for my car. When I do a two year maintenance to my car, its engine oil and filter, rear end and gear box fluid, flush the brake and clutch slave cylinder fliuds, flush antifreeze. Small filler projects such as having inspected and lubed the cv joints, balanced the left and right banks, adjusted the air fuel mixture , plugs, wires, cap, better brake pads, ect...are things I enjoy doing because I enjoy the car and don't mind working on it. Soon to be completed will be all new motor mounts, tranny mounts, and a header back euro exhaust system as the little extras with this years services.
I can't wait, our concorso will be here before I know it!

 

I would agree with this, but depending on paint and "records", might be 105-110. I think 110 would really be pushing it, though.

 

With such little info on the 89, hard to say for sure.

I.E. wing no wing, USA bumpers front rear or no, interior color, mainatnce records from a know place or just the owner doing fluids and filters. Tires are good, about 2600 bucks right there. Also paint, accidents etc etc..

But as an example, I recently sold a 89, red/tan, wing, non USA bumpers, 6600 miles, full service records from new, no paint or acccidents $126K

I would put this car at $100K if it is a "rough" car as Peter says..BUT knowing Jason..yes a 906 e-mails and 561 tesxts and 132 calls..it is not rough..so

I am saying 115K-130K

Of course, I am assuming that what Jason is looking at is private party, hence 105-110.
