A cold call w/o an offer is simply phishing. I wouldn't entertain it. When presented with an offer my first thought was capital gains, which for me makes today's prices unattractive.

Most of the anni's for sale have dropped their prices and they still don't seem to be selling.

He decided to think about it for a day. I offered to let him see the car the next day around dinner time after I was home from work and he initially agreed to come see it, however he canceled the appointment the next day saying he could not pay the price at which I was willing to sell him the car. As Larry suggested, there's little impetus for me to sell at this time given the current market values and tax implications of such a sale.

FI. I personally prefer FI, even if carbs look better. There was nothing more satisfying than my Countach starting up first time I turned over the key this spring.

Carbs are cooler,no question,a small premium is justiied. Fi are better in the occasional use category, mine starts and runs perfect every time, reach inn, turn the key, idles at 1900-2100 for a minute or two then settles to my personal setting 1200+/- (a/c likes this setting) anyway, also recieved a call the other day, no idea how the person got my nmbr, looking for a Countach, bla bla, i showed no interst in selling, the conversation ended in ,I will text you my e mail adress, and if interested in selling, mail some pictures, no text was ever recieved. Caller id was Bridgeport Conn .

My mother received a call from a guy in Bridgeport also, who was looking for my dad. He wanted to ask about his Countach. My mom told him that my dad has been dead almost ten years and he didn't have a Countach, and thought he must have wanted to talk to me instead, and gave him my phone number. There is no more privacy. Be careful!

In Bridgeport, which is about 40min from me, is Redline Restorations. They are involved as a sponsor of our Ferrari and Friends Concorso.
    Redline Restorations

Other than that, most of Bridgeport is not the safest or the best area in CT.

Thankyou everyone for all of this 'cold calling' discussion. This is a very important heads up as to what has happened to you.

My kids have phones in their rooms and have to be the first to pick up. I will be having an important talk with them tomorrow.

    Appreciate that info Peter K.

If I would be smarter or less sentimental than I am, my Ct would be on the block for top $ right now.
Italian car prices are totally out of control and many people dont seen to care. Lots of justifications made too and sckeptics like me starting to believe in a 500% rise in 3 years makes me think we are close to the end.

Good point, time will tell. On a good note, whatever category you choose to put the Countach in,collector item ,art, and so on, the todays actual Selling prices( not asking or advertised) are very vell justified, considering its history, automotive impact nmbr produced, fame and glory, recognition, and on and on, also a new entry level Lambo is in the low 300 s, wich is a threshold nmbr accsepted to pay in the world of italian motoring,

Don't want to make anyone shart, but have you seen Espada values of late?

I've been following them and holy crap. I believe there was a 250k and a hair over 300k sales. I believe it was Klimalounge. Which, btw, just paid 70k for a basket case.

Lot's of high asking prices with some of them selling.

it seems that yesterday espadas in good shape were $35K in the mid 2000....I vividly recall it.

250K is over a 7 fold. In that sense you are right 5 fold for a CT is nothing! lol.. We live in crazy times. Wars everywhere and free money woldwide to no end.
The party will probably end by year's end unless The euro zone an China takes the relay of what has gone on here.

As more of these cars change hands from the well off to the truly wealthy, will there be a slow reduction in the numbers of cars offered? For a well paid professional who bought the car as an enthusiast years ago, selling a car for $500k+ is an opportunity (albeit with a potential tax headache). For the multi millionaire who bought it for $500k plus, he may not be inclined to cash out unless there is a vast offer presented to him.

While perhaps an extreme analogy, the participants in the seven figure 1950-60's Ferrari market perhaps outnumber the opportunities to acquire a 250 TR, SWB or GTO and thus keep the price up. Sometimes these cars only change hands at estate sales. Prices move both ways, but I suspect after reaching such heights they will be a bit 'sticky'.

I got a call from Lenny a few weeks ago also. Funny that when I was shopping years ago, I did the same thing. When satisfactory examples were not on the market I shook the bushes so to speak, looked up owners, and called them. I did get several great leads at the time. He sounded real and we had a nice conversation.

I just think strangers calling my house is unacceptable. There are avenues to take. Join a message board. Contact via PM or email. Make friends first .
Obviously Lenny is using resources he is not suppose to, to get your numbers.

I guess next we'll get a ring of the doorbell at 9:30 at night.

    100% agree.

A stranger showing up at someone's home looking for a car may end up looking down a barrel instead.
