    That's a Hall of Fame quote! :D

Actually, the words 'Budget' and 'Countach' don't belong in the same sentence! When you think of the ridiculously extreme nature and avant-garde design of the Countach, you realize this.

    lol!
Well you get the drift of my comment. Driving cars that are close the 1MM and 250K is quite a difference for some of us and the Countach has reached that range.
250K for a countach nowadays is "budget"for countach wannabe owners, noting that budget would still buy you a new fully optioned ver nice McLaren 570S...
    It is all in perpective.

Yup. Retarded. Prices have exploded. And there's people here that try to convince themselves and others that it makes perfect sense.

Over 2 years since your last post. You could have enjoyed a countach for those two years and not lost a dime. Worst case scenario the car cld have gone down 50 percent. Range rovers and s63s depreciate 6 figures in no time. Net net you wld have been happier having owned a countach for 2 years no?

A1 it makes perfect sense these cars jumped up a bit in price, perhaps not in the millions, (although some models will stay there or get there) the common Countach as we know it,will Always be priced higher than the latest, least expensive production model from Lamborghini,at any given time, and rightfully so, actually we might all be inn for a surprice regarding its value,Lots of cash floating around. Also ,had an interesting talk with a Swedish car guy 10 years younger than me,he drives a 458, but is also buying a 1973 race Pantera, telling me this generation is as interested in the 70-80 supercars as i am,meaning there is a good long future for these cars.

Nobody here is trying to convince anyone of anything.

We are all big boys & girls.

The market is the market, deal with it.

    Whos this character?

You don't like the price, go look at different cars.

To call it retarded is rather naive.

The post was from 2014. At that time price just exploded without really understanfing why. I have to say 5 to 6 years ago nobody wanted to touch a countach. 10 years ago I was asked why I did not buy a "real car" and that the countach was, I quote a "lawn ornament". Perception of the countach in the mid-2000 was horrible. Everyone loved to see one but scattered from the thought of owing one.

Since 2014 all we hear is self driving cars, electric car and automatic shift. Governements want everyone to be safe despite themselves and will go to extremes to make you safe from yourself, at least when it comes to automotive because for the rest I am not so sure they will not throw you under the bus..
So given that manual trans, carburetors and raw driving experience will no longer be available to the mere mortal, unless you have a 7 digits figure to buy a limited super exotic, people from that era still alive will be stuck with the 80s and 90s cars to buy.
New kids will get a ride in an iPhone and may be that will even become virtual

It is possible, this is due to people jumping behind the wheel for a brief drive and finding the car difficult to drive. A casual driver will park the car after driving for 15 minutes and find it all but impossible to drive the car with ease. I had second thoughts after I purchased a car.

I turned around and had no idea where to even look. Where was the blind spot. It is not unusual for cars to latch on and hide in your blind spot. At first, the car took a lot of effort to engage at low speeds. I drove the car with socks - no shoes.

However, after a while and spending some time on the road, the car at speed began to make sense. It all felt good and came together at fun speeds :).

To take this up again, sounds like solar Panels and the battery pack of the tesla would have an unlimited lifetime.
But this isn't the case, I've seen Roadster here which have already a new battery pack, costs the same 25k as mentioned for the used S model.
Also Solar Panels do not work forever, to Charge the S Model you need a panel farm not just your own roof.

Coming back to CT Prices, as Joe said: it's the market, but not only the used car market. Finance, real estates, mortgages, interest rates, this all is related.
The more money in the system the more will be spent or say invested, like a Junkie on drugs.
When "Investors" entered the market the prices exploded, not only the CT, many classic cars cost now about 3 times what they costs 5 years back.
Reminds me the subprime crises, lets hope the baloon leaks but will not explode like in 1993...

I went to $380k. It was still a color change high mile car. I think it would take a good $250k to bring it to where it would be a collection car. I think it was an excellent Drivers car and a good buy for that reason

If Roy brings the S2 home it probably will beat most "safe" returns over a 10 year period.

And looks and sounds much better than a muni bond or index fund ! As soon as he collects the money he will buy something else anyway. Sell it or keep it, he wins either way.
