one really fun/interesting part of future values ,is all predictions are made based on each induviduals way to judge whats coming. mine is ,10 years from now,all qv cars will be worth more than high body 2 valve carbed cars, judging from comments made by young people driving exotics today, wich approach me when i am out and about in my car, again my guess only, fully respect everybody else oppinion, as a side note, the anni cars will be much more vanted and poss be up there with the qv cars.bottom line is,i think the price difference between the variants will be marginal,

Quite the opposite, and this is supported by market reality as opposed to opinions or guesswork.

Comments made by young people driving exotics today are not a prudent indication of anything, as they don't reflect current reality or have any basis for accurate predictions, an experienced market specialist involved in the market professionally 24/7/365 on the other hand may be able to give you meaningful insight based on accumulated data.

The highest value to lowest value is clearly established in the market as LP400 > QV Downdraft & LP400S S1 > LP400S S2 > LP400S S3 & LP500S > 25th > QV Fuelie, the range from top to bottom values is huge, and the market data supports the fact that this range in values has established a propensity to increase with time overall.

10 years out is a long time, this is my prediction,no more no less, there is 4 qv injected cars in our system, not one of us would buy any other variant,if this market started back from square one, also ,if any, next generation buyer, they will not give a diddly squat wether the Countach got carbs or fi. the best engine is the qv,well known fact, no need to argue, unless you have a crystal ball, hopefully we will both be around to see who was right an who was wrong, all good.

Based on the fact that the Countach market has generated accumulated data for over 45 years since the earliest cars were built, 10 years isn't so long at all, meanwhile, without guessing, we know that carbureted QVs bring fully 2 to 3 times the value that Fuelie QVs do, thats an established market fact, and it is proof positive which underscores that people do care whether the Countach is carbureted or not.

Considering that I do this for a living full-time and you don't, so you'll have to take my word that all the next generation buyers I'm selling Downdrafts to are coming with a specific request to buy a carbureted Countach, and if possible a carbureted QV, this desire has become well-established with the new generation.

A quick perusal of the Downdraft thread other threads proves that carbureted cars are driven much more than fuel-injected cars, and not just because there are far more of them.

In times of wealth destruction, there will be car deals. With money printing and more stock market pain, in a few years the best cars may again be seen more as a store of value. That’s my prediction. It happened from 2011 to 2014 in a big way.

  11. Everything will be at a discount. From the last recession, I noticed that many of the vintage cars I wanted just disappeared. I did not find a 50k Dino. Not to say there were no deals. The best deals appeared to be on new(er) cars. More than a few Gallardos, 360's, Bentleys, etc. The stuff that, for the most part, was financed & typically depreciated anyways.

I think you will soon find deals on newer cars as well as under 100K $ classic cars

So we are still selling and buying cars. I do believe things will get worse for the global economy, but great cars are selling. Both BringaTrailer and RM Sothebys Online auctions have brought strong numbers considering the current world situation. Newer production cars, Hypercars and the cars chased by speculators unfortunately are already on discount and the discounts will continue...

The cars we are selling are going to super passionate buyers who are tired of the volatility in the equity markets and have decided to focus on their passions more. There are very few Miura SV, F40, low mileage Countach owners who are desperate to sell, or need to sell. While things won't be amazing, I don't think that collector cars will feel the brunt of the worlds current situation.

    My two cents!

He could not have picked a worse time to begin the sales process.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

Agreed, and FWIW both my son & I are selling cars in this period, a lot of disposable income has come out of the stock market, and as in the past when this has happend, a percentage of that money seeks tangible goods such as classic cars, what better time to think about cars than when you are in an enforced vacation at home?

RHD can limit your prospective market a bit but on the other hand it is rare, I think the challenge is his timing which prospective buyers may interpret as a need to sell, and bear in mind the car has been repainted to a non-original metallic red color.

RHD is still of major interest to me, as one day I will return to NZ to retire and I would love to take a RHD Countach with me.

Do you know the original color it was delivered in?

Indeed RHD is prized in the countries where it applies, meanwhile HLA12065 was delivered in PPG 2.464.022 otherwise known as Rosso Siviglia.

Yes, it was sold by us for the best part of $650k and is the first Countach in the stable of an Italian car enthusiast.

Thanks, Joe. Congrats on the sale and congrats to the new owner. I found the earlier comments on the color somewhat surprising -- the white over red is one of my favorites. Classy from the outside and raw on the inside. Without the wing and with the round belly clean look, this was for me the perfect configuration for a DD. But it was stretching my budget. Maybe next time.

Agreed on the specification, colors are very subjective, personally I like a lot of different colors, meanwhile we have done 3 so far this year year in that price range, that said there may be some buying opportunities upcoming before things go up again.

Here's FLA12835 as the new owner first saw it.
