I think so. I really just said it to say it. Not that I have real problems with it being like that. I do have problems with users that only spend most their time in OT. Won't be long and I will have reports that flag users that spend most of their time in OT.
best way to handle this is a post per day in a particular forum. you don't necessarily get flagged for it, instead, it will not allow a user to post within so many minutes or seconds. that way... no reports, and thus, no maintenance for you to keep up with.
What about those times when the only things going on in GD or Vintage or wherever are beyond some peoples' capacity to respond...? O/T is a place for those people to mingle until something comes up in another forum that we can relate to... i can't very well reply (with anything worthy) to a thread started by someone looking for tires or wheels for a 330 GTC... Nor can i explain to someone why TR & 355 prices are falling, why 328 prices are rising and why 360 prices are holding... i could guess or take a stab in the general direction of the correct answer, but any given dozen or so users could do a better job with stuff like that than me... So i just "loft" in O/T until something comes up that i can chew on...

Yes, he also copiously used graphic files to make his point - which was usually well timed and funny and quite often at the expense of a real troll. Maranelloman was a great contributor to this site and was always generous with his knowledge and advice. How can you ban him but not some of the real trolls like Mako? Maranelloman is an Ferrari enthusiast unlike the lamborghini trolls that slam ferraris at every opportunity and offend the real members and sponsors that happen to like 308s, Maranellos, etc. After hundreds of troll posts from these idiot trolls - you ban maranelloman for violating an unclear policy? He was also your biggest supporter in your JRV war. Wow! I have to rethink my participation on this site.

A very little hand slap if you will, not a big deal. The Bikini thread rules were very clear and had been documented several times in a thread that Dave had been a very active participant. I think between breaking that rule and also the problems I had with him removing his illegal avatar, Dave just has a "above the law" mentality. Just a little 24 hour suspension, nothing big, everyone knows I'm not very strict on moderation. Any war with JRV wasn't my war. JRV has more enemies than Iraq and it's not even on the radar anymore. I didn't like some things he did, but no big deal, doesn't bother me these days. Dave and others had their own reasons out for JRV. I didn't realize my post was so aggressive. You are the ultimate authority on this board and you had your reasons for banning dave - however, I couldn't believe his bikini post (which I did not see) was as detrimental to this site as the posts of our two lambo trolls. However, after reviewing the activity on the forum for the past week, I think you may have served the lambo twins a warning too as they have been behaving much better lately. I would say that the quality on this forum is moving back to where it was - so your suspensions and warnings must be working. It does seem that you are enforcing better behaviour all the way around - and I am all for that. And I will try and do my part to contribute more postively from now on. If the lambo twins are allowed to troll, then I will not frequent the site. And I say give Gary Green a 2nd chance. If he messes up once more - ban him for life.
