Can someone please tell me what and how many keys originally came with a 328 GTS and a GTB? I believe the GTS had an extra key from the quarter window grilles but I'm uncertain about the others. Thank you.

    Two:
the ignition key, which is the foldable type, black plastic handle with Cavallino.
the door key, which, on the GTS, also open the quarter window grilles (the small grill on the GTB that covers the gas tank cap has no lock). And also open the small compartment between the seat (bigger on the GTB, contains a cassette rack)
Plus a very small key that opens the lock of the leather pocket behind the passenger seat.

There were usually two or three sets of keys. I believe that there should actually be three sets, but some cars seem to have been delivered new with only two sets.

Key fobs were "Loriolis", i.e with "AE. Lorioli Milano" engraved on the back side.

Bruno, just to add, both my 328's doesn't have a lock/key on the back pocket of passenger side, only a little round knob that opens the latch after it clips in to secure flap that closes the pocket.

Gosh...I'm caught empty-handed...would you believe me if I told you that I can't even remember with certainty if both of mines have that lock or not?
That neither had the small key, I am sure; but the lock? I should know, because I hate to brush the "leatherique" into the leather on that flap, on the back of that flap, on the leather inside that pocket, etc...(and I have just been doing that on one of the cars last week-end!)
And each time I have been doing this I had my eyes close on that pocket!

(By the way, one of the disadvantages of a GTB over the GTS is definitively conditioning the seats, leather on the "tunnel" between the pits, on the console, etc....my how the cabin is cramped when you have to move for doing this!)

I have the same on my car and if I remember correctly there should be two "slots" above the round knob for the two fork portions of the key to fit into. I will look tonight when I return from the office.

    Regards

I wasn't able to photograph the lock as I got home late from the office, but was able to verify there is a lock or key slot above the round knob. I have included a picture of all three keys for reference that Bruno described in post #2.

My car came with two sets of the above keys (only one pouch key) and a plastic handled cavallino embossed version of the door key and an all metal version of the ignition key.

Thank you Paul for having posted this. This is "THE" standard set of key for any 328, whichever market the car was built for.

I'm afraid you don't have original keys then. As said above, there is only one standard set of original keys, the one posted in picture by Paul above.

The little lock and key located on the pouch behind the passengers seat is interesting. Unless I'm overlooking it, there is no mention of them in the owners manual (see page 6 of the owners manual below). They only list the folding ignition key and the door/glove box/fuel cap (GTS) key. Obviously the pouch and lock are there, so it's odd that there is no mention about them. Again, I may just be missing it.

I bought my car and kept everything the car came with, however there was no pouch key. I don't dispute it exists but I had to find one online. Funny how there is no mention of it in the owners handbook.

I am also sceptical that this was issued with all cars. I have everything my car came with and there was no pouch key.

I do have a little black plastic tag though.

I'm curious, for those who's cars did not come with the pouch key, does the hardware on the pouch have a lock?

I do know that many, if not all, 89s came with both a non-folding ignition key in the same design as the 348/355, and a folding ignition key as shown above.

At least every 89 that I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few; cars that have gone through my dealership, my own personal 89 GTB, and cars that I've judged. I thought at first that the key was just replaced with the later design, but I can't imagine that this happened for every 89 that I've seen.

    Michael,

I have two late production 328, #80515, late february 1989 GTS, and #81085, early April 1989 GTB, both "euro"; both came with the standard set of 328 keys, that is folding ignition key and small door key, as illustrated above.

they came from 1985 throughout the model range with folding ignition keys, the straight keys were cut along the line somewhere as a backup.
