What is that canister in the back underneath the wing ? ( is it the fuel tank ? ) Where will the exhaust be once installed ? What color will you paint it, black would be the best , no ? Thank you
Yes fuel cell, that one is temporary, I have an 80’s Moon Equipt 14 gallon cell that works for this one, 4-24” stainless cone pipes coming up at a steep angle that follows the X brace, and yes Black as Coal
I wanted to ask why you could not or did not use the OEM fuel tanks, and install them where they come from the factory ? You did not shrink the size of the 308, you made it look more F40 ish, which is pretty darn good looking by the way ! To me, the car looks like using the OEM tanks would work. I was just curious. Thank you
Simple reason for no stock fuel tanks, I don’t have any. Shows over, was trailered back, raining of course. Time to get back to finishing it Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Time to get busy again, I’ve moved on to the annoying little things like brakes, it doesn’t have any so I ordered a master rebuild kit and new tank, and started the tear down process and have run into the troubles. Someone actually tried to fix and save the tank, sigh Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The trouble started when I noticed the rebuild kit is completely different, I’ve never rebuilt a Ferrari Master so I didn’t know any better, the bore is 1”1/8 , yuge thought maybe F40 but that seems to be 1” any ideas what this is? I went ahead and ordered the weak sauce little 308 master complete to save time and effort, the rear brake mounts on the outlaw has 2 brake mounts front and rear, can’t remember if that’s normal for parking brake and slave? Been awhile since I’ve worked on a stock QV and have memory fade Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ive never done any master cyl. work personally. But what do you mean by 2 mounts for caliper? I have done caliper rebuilds on 308 before
that is correct. The parking brake is built into the rear calipers. Set the rear pad gap to .oo4 inch. Parking brake sucks. Also there are two small washers that are a shim that goes directly to the mount between the caliper ear. Iirc they are 1mm.
This is completely different, there’s normal calipers mounted rearward, the parking brake is inside the hub and uses the inside rotor pocket for that operation, I have another set of stock rear calipers that mount to those empty tabs
If you want to use some Porsche Boxter/Cayman disks (rotors) which are bigger, better, cheaper, I had some hubcentric rings made and brackets to use forged Wilwood calipers. I have a few sets left: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/dereks-308-engine-rebuild.535247/page-17
I don't know much about the 328 parking brake system, but unlike the 308 it is apparently like you describe with a drum brake setup working inside the hat of the rear disk. Maybe you have a very late QV and they actually made the switch earlier than the 328 model introduction. Or someone retrofitted the 328 system to this QV.
Small victory for the day, installed the clutch cable which was way to short, also I was missing clevis mounts and what not, was able to locate the correct left hand thread stainless turnbuckle for a sailboat on the line, 15 bucks later it’s thread/bolt on. Clutch works now, moving back to get the brakes bled Image Unavailable, Please Login
