I also added the full novitec system to the F8 and it made a big difference, although nothing like the 812. Arguably, the F8 needs it much more... Best of luck!

yeah I have 0 expectation it comes close to an NA car but man does that F8 need it. Car is perf otherwise. I feel like Once the sound is corrected it’s game over. Just hope I don’t have codes. I’ll know this weekend.

I had the exact same mindset about the F8. Car is basically flawless except for the sound. With the Novitec it's pretty much perfect.

I enjoyed it very much for 2.5 yrs and 19k miles and decided to move on to the new platform (traded it for a 296 GTS a month ago). But I'm only ok with the trade because I REALLY enjoyed the F8 (and frankly because the 296 is awesome too). Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to pull the trigger. Sometimes you just want to experience something new. But with the F8, I could have kept it for many more years...

my dealer has been pushing me to get a 296 GTS and then the VS but I just can’t pull the trigger. Everyone seems to be obsessed with the 296 from a drive standpoint. Doesn’t make sense with the F8 so I’d have to more logically sell the 812 which I hate the idea of. Prob just going to stay where I’m at for now.

Stay put. You'll be just fine. I'd NOT sell the 812! Just enjoy the F8 with the new exhaust for 1-2 yrs and make up your mind then. My 2 cents...

And the fact that the capristo pipes work on a GTS and no need for a plugin code clearer is huge.

Hey!!! Where is the video? Would love to hear this from the outside like driving by or when approaching. If its possible, there are a few of us still waiting for the symphony from heavens.

I'm going to just change to Novitec cats, nothing else. If I am disappointed, then I'll do more.

I think you'll run into the problem of getting a CEL, since Novitec only sells 100 cell cats. It's louder, but as far as I know, to avoid it you'll need:

    1) NOVITEC Race Exhaust System with Flap Regulation, or a way to open and close the valves, and

    2) Novitec Tectronic, or a way to avoid the CEL

Double check with the local shop!

I got my F8 back today with the 250 Capristo cats and Novitec inconel exhaust installed. Took it for a quick spin in LA rush hour traffic and so far so good. No codes and no plug in. No tune. Sounds significantly better although I was surprised it wasnt significantly louder. Marginally louder but a much better tone. Pitch is way improved. I will take it out for a real drive tmw morning.

I also got my 812 back as well. Will take video of both tmw. Just need to find a road I can set my phone up on. Not easy in LA.

Capristo guarantees their cats wont throw codes. 250 is kind of the magic number. What I was told by the guys at Platinum in LA which is what they were told by capristo.

awesome news! So keep in mind that it’ll take at least 1k miles or several heat cycles for the cats to break in, at least that I’m aware of. My F8 was just like yours at the beginning (better but not crazy better like the 812), but it started sounding significantly better after 2k miles!

I had a feeling that would be the case. My 812 sounds unreal now. I can see where the F8 will go. Thanks for that intel. I’m excited….

Do you like the older F1 high pitch? Get the X pipe. I bought an X pipe for the 812SF, didn't replace cats, and it ruined the low end drama of the car. The high pitch above 3k rpm is awesome. I wouldn't get an x pipe again unless I replaced to high flow cats.

Got the dreaded CEL this morning on the F8. Engine failure take to dealership. Taking it to my motorsports guys tmw to see what can be done. May need to go back to OEM exhaust. I wont tune the car. That’s too much for me. I’d consider the OBD plug in. Hey I got a clean 48 hours….

    That
got rid of the gpf though? The muffler replacement would do it. I’d expect a cel for sure in that case. The cats may not be the culprit.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. May have to put the OEM exhaust on and maybe add an X Pipe.
