Passenger side hood latch popping open?

    Hi everyone!

    I went for a 300 mile drive and while coming home my hood open symbol came up on the dash. I went to look to see if it was open and only the passenger side was unlatched. I closed the hood again and the light went away. Well yesterday I went over some railroad tracks and the same thing happened, only the passenger side hood latch was released. Has anyone dealt with this before and do you have any suggestions on how to fix?

    I have had a similar experience. Applying some grease to the slider mechanism cured it. Not positive but I suspect the slider was moving as I went over bumps, but because it was binding (moving slowly) against the bracket, it was allowing the bonnet to unlatch.

    Happened to me also, just clipping down that side first when closing the hood solved the problem for me
