Not quite. You see how there are 3 small lines before it? Thats 8600 rpm. Your arrow is right after 8600 rpm but most certainly before 8900. 8900 rpm would be between the last line and the edge of 9 line.

In not one single instance did the tach exceed 87xx in any of the videos posted here. You do not know how to read a Ferrari tach. 9k is the 'dark' line. The line you indicate is 8800, of which it did not hit. If you want to go to the data then just look at the dyno graph. It doesn't look like max was recorded above 86xx and that's the shop's dyno with aftermarket modifications.

It does look like it made it up to 8800 rpm in this video indeed.

Only in Ferrari this stuff flies. I swear from the cars that cant ever match their weight figures to not allowing journalists to post lap times to now car doesnt even reach advertised redline and owners of the $500,000 car has to “petition” for reaching the advertised redline. This is pretty hilarious actually.

I’m curious what the real redline for competitizione is.

It doesnt exceed 8600 in this video either. The camera is mounted to the left of the tach and sees the needle from a left biased angle.

That car is running a catless exhaust without check engine light, it might have a tune.

Is there a single owner here with a stock car who can verify that their car does indeed hit 8900 rpm
in all gears at all times as one would expect? i.e GT3 hits 9000 rpm in every gear, manual or auto mode (granted revs are limited to 7000 rpm until engine coolant hits 146F).

Looks like 812 comp also revs to 9200, thats same amount of rpm less than advertised redline

While doing launch control, I explained that it shifts at the highest power, that is, 9250.

Well, if it´s all about performance, then it should shift when there is maximum power, not at max rpms.

I think omercan needs to read a bit more about max power and max rpm. From 458 to Z06 to GT3 and to 812, cars have different max power rpms. This doesnt mean this is the best shift point. What you need to ensure is after upshifting to the next gear, RPMs remain above the max horsepower and peak torque rpm figures. So the way this usually works is if max hp is at 8400, you want to make sure when you up shift, rpms does not drop too far below 8400. Usually above peak torque rpm and as close to max rpm as possible. Thats why people say “stay in power band”.

I think Ferrari might be trying to save the clutches to keep rpms lower during launch control sequence.

So if 812 makes max power at 8500 rpm, it makes sense to redline it at 8900 rpm as you keep peak power to the highest rpm before torque drops too much. You want to make sure torque curve and power band are optimized as you keep increasing velocity and upshift.

Huge gap in understanding here though, if an engine makes max hp at X rpm, that absolutely does not mean that X rpm is/should be the max rpm.

Do you know how much power GT3 produces at 9000 rpm?

    Power 525 Hp @ 8500 rpm.
    Power per litre 131.4 Hp/l
    Torque 465 Nm @ 6300 rpm.
    342.97 lb.-ft. @ 6300 rpm.
    Maximum engine speed 9000 rpm.
