hey man they're literally the worst thing ever.

previous owner put them on the car and I'm too afraid to remove them and damage the stock mirrors without having a replacement lined up.

basically they require you to completely refocus your eyes which makes highway merging...sketchy -- they make the blindspot bigger because you lose use of the far end of the mirror.

I'm driving past you on Wednesday midday if you want to meet me and take a look at them

Use a plastic razor blade and some goof off.

I agree though, if your mirrors are set correctly, these are more of a pain than anything else.

I wouldn't. Not sure how good that silvering is on the back or if it would cause issues. Maybe just do it on a warm day. The plastic razor should be enough to take the mirror off and leave you with the double sided foam mess. Then you can start throwing the goof off on it and scraping away the rest.

... but good hairdryer gives enough heat to make the glue a bit soft and not enough heat to damage the paint.

I removed all my CF fake tape from the bumper like that, and it left almost no residue. plus other stickers, tape, ppf film, etc on many other cars.

I only use the heat gun to warm up properly my neighbour's cat.... kettle, I mean tea kettle. darn english.

Thanks, I noticed Dan Hurlbert (NGS) had them on his F430 in some older videos and was wondering how well they worked. I guess they really don't.

As for meeting up, I wish I had time this week. We are preparing for Zero Based Budgeting at work this week and next, so I'm swamped. Are you heading down for a short trip or will you be heading back later in August? Would love to meet up if that's the case.

    Cheers,
    Corey

Unfortunately I'm passing through on a ~4500 mile roadtrip west for Monterey Car Week -- not sure exactly when the car will be coming back east but probably not until next spring as I'd like to do a few track days out west this fall and winter.
