Said goodbye to my '06 argento nurburgring F430 F1 coupe in november and picked up my '07 6spd coupe last week from Ferrari of Houston. Spec'd the car out in September, build was completed near the end of November. My last 4 Fcars have been shades of silver so I thought I'd try something new :) I wish I had something profound to say about the drive of the 430 but I'm pretty sure it's all been said before... absolute perfection.

The TDF and tan are a great combination in almost any sports car. Yours is really striking. The 6 speed should help you avoid the clutch wear the F1 encounters.

Wow! TDF + 6-speed = superb choice. By the way, how does the 430 6-speed compare with the 360's?

    Very nice.

The photos make it look almost Mirabeau.

    Best of luck.

It works better with 3 pedals, too!

thanks y'all. glad i'm not the only one that loves TDF! i agree, the gated shifter is a thing of beauty.

i figured i'd get a positive response from you! i looked at your car's pictures MANY times while waiting for my car to arrive. 430 6spd is just as smooth as the 360, the clutch seems a bit lighter in the 430 though. i know the guy that bought my last 360 ('04 spider, 6spd) so it would be interesting to drive them back to back. otherwise, just going by memory which isn't very reliable...

i only had my f1 430 for about 2 months (1000 miles) so i'm no expert but i will say the 430 f1 is truly amazing, and is years ahead of the 360's f1, IMO. i wanted to try out the f1 in the 430, i did and i decided to order a 6spd. it really does come down to personal preference. and as amazing as the f1 is, i love shifting, the traditional way, and consider that a big part of the overall driving "experience" - but that's just me. if my priorities were different, maybe if i was a track junkie or more concerned with absolute performance, i may have stuck with the f1. just gotta try both and decide for yourself.

no, none that i have noticed thus far. i'm pretty sure there weren't any performance type updates for '07?? the exhaust sounds throatier and louder but that may just be that i've gotten used to hearing the wimpy exhaust on my pcar :)

dj, my favorite part too!! i actually owe the yellow calipers to joe at foh and some posters on this board. i was dead set on red and didn't even consider yellow but after talking to joe and doing a search for pictures on fchat, i realized how much i absolutely loved the yellow, esp against the blue car. glad i listened for a change!

nice! post some pics. love seeing tdf.

Lovely car. I just lowered mine 14mm all around. No scraping anywhere and it just sits so much better. Simple to do as they are adjustable :)

    Enjoy

I just placed an order for a 6-spd. manual F430 Berlinetta. I have been wrestling with the color selection but I think that this post has just clinched it for me. TDF Blue with the light tan interior and Daytona-style seats.
