As amazing as the 765LT is and as fast as it is, McLaren should really do something about the sound of the car. At least in that video, it sounds a bit like a lawn mower.
Some love the look of it and its possible functionality, others not so much.It is an option and an exhorbitantly priced one at that.
For some people it’s a must have option and they think I’m crazy for not getting it. That’s the exact reason it’s an “option” as some want it and other don’t. The only must have option for me is 4 tires and a steering wheel. Lol.
I think it sounds better than a Pista from the driver’s seat. It’s a difficult sound to describe in words. ‘Powerful’ comes to mind.
I wonder if demand would have been different if they instead called it a ‘roof mounted engine compartment fresh air duct’.
Now see, I would have bought it if that was what is was called. I could have yelled “periscope down” so I could see over traffic.
That area is actually usable for a duffle bag or two if you take a road trip but with the simulation unit maybe not so much.
Latest Drag Times Video- 765 LT- On Pirelli P Zero Tires. 0-60 mph- 2.156 seconds 0-100 - 4.418 0-200kph- 6.36 sec 1/4 mile - 9.37 seconds @ 152 mph
This is bonkers!! 0-200km.h in 6.36s?! I know of tuned 720s with more than 950hp that are not as fast!! What is wrong with this car?! Is it on drugs?!
That’s where he does all of his test. It’s also the purpose of the drag strip, to give you the 1/4 mile time. When you say “ regular road” what type of surface are you referring to? How about the elevation? How about the grade of the road (is it on a decline?). The only was to somewhat compare apples to apples to to use the same track.
I was responding to the person stating it's faster than a 950hp tuned 720s, which presumably was not run on the same track. The differences for that 950hp car being slower may be up to the road surface (regular meaning a normal asphalt road with dirt and small debris in areas).
Got it. Sorry about that. Btw, I can’t wait to see what his SF90 does when he gets it and takes it to the strip. It was putting up some crazy numbers in Puerto Rico.
On a street it will do well from a standing start with AWD but after that it is too fat to keep up and the electric motors die off.
