    In the taking a long trip thread, Jim suggested bringing a list of the good Ferrari mechanics along the way... just in case. That would be easy to throw into a Palm for the trip. The trick is:

    Where do you get a list of experienced Ferrari mechanics all over the US?

    I suggest we compile one here in this thread. If we get a good list, I'll compile it into forms suitable for download to Palm or laptop or for printing.

    I suggest all we need is:

    City, State - Phone Number - Business Name - optional Contact Name

    I figure if you need them, you'll call first... and if you need address or other info, you'll get it from them... probably with directions.


    Of course, if such a list of Ferrari mechanics exists for any portion of the US, please post a link or PM it to me and I'll merge it into the "one list".

    My mechanic of choice, no queston. I ship my cars from CA to TX for this guy. Most of the time still save money which is a plus. Found out about him from an acquaintance in Japan who had a collector car restored through him.

    Factory training on Ferrari and Lamborghini. I sent him my 2003 Murcielago while still under warranty and he fixed it when the dealers couldn't. 30 years of working on exotics. 20 years with his own shop. Has serviced/restored everything from 250 California Spiders to F40 type exotics. From 350 GTs to Murcielagos. Does performance tuning for Ferraris and Lamborghinis (mine, for example) too.

    I had seen a post on Fchat from another member who had just stopped in to check them out and was favorably impressed. I called them when I got my car in early March 03 because they are very convenient to my home - going to Norwood's is a major expedition for me. The 330 needed an inspection sticker and had sprung a serious oil leak at the front of the engine. They basically finished the mechanical reconditionioning and fine tuning my car needed. I consider them to be my permanent shop. They are in every way the equal of the best private repair facilities I've seen in Dallas for highend foreign and American sports and exotic cars. They have recently added a new man, Greg Johnson, who was with Bob Norwood for several years and knows all Ferraris, including the V12's, very well, and is a nice, personable guy to work with. I consider Dallas Autosport to be a very well kept secret at this point, compared to Norwood Performance or Bob Smith. I recommend them highly to owners of any age or model of Ferrari or whatever else you have (their shop is full of TR's, 308s, BMWs, Lambos , Morgans, etc., etc.).

    More commentary on other Dallas facilities to come - Mrs. needs the computer NOW!

    Did PPI on my car and extensive brake work, replaced exhaust system, did lots of detail work, shipped car to me - all negotiated over phone, before I even saw the car. Very highly recommend-Johannes is V12 Ferrari enthusiast, Daytona owner, European (Swiss) gentleman of the highest integrity and expertise. All work done for me was excellent and fairly priced.

    So there's only 22 good independent Ferrari mechanics in the US?
    Covering only 10 states?

    I'd particularly like to hear of some good mechanics where I intend to drive this next year...

    Louisiana (to get to N'awlins or Barber)
    Alabama (near Barber)
    New Mexico (to go to California or Colorado)
    Arizona (to California)
    Monterrey area of California (as many as possible, for FCA2004)
    Missouri (to get to Indianapolis or Mid-Ohio)
