no, what Baitschev is referring to is advertisements appearing, striped in at bottom of the page, I suppose only appears for members who have not paid (i.e. free users).

the process of ad-serving is really a drag on the performance of this website, and the ads rotate on a regular basis and that causes more slowness, it is just a way for Rob to generate some much deserved revenue but it is really affects performance of this website, I cannot imagine the effect on a mobile devices...

 

There was a glitch that let non-paid or expired members get ad-free service. That’s been fixed so the solution now is to just re-subscribe to at least Silver status. Ads will then go away. You may have to sign out and back in for that to take effect after you pay.

I guess I dont see the ads cause I paid the 10 bucks or whatever it is.

 

I’ve not paid for a membership and I never see ads. Nor propaganda which is something entirely different. It is never slow either and performs fine on my mobile device. Adjust your settings, maybe?

I do see a line between posts once in a while that says “to remove ads click here” . But there are never any ads to remove, so.......

 

I noticed it started happening a few days or so back. If you aren't logged in it's even worse - all the google adds basically render the site (annoyingly) unusable. Truly terrible..

 

You have to pay the subs. Seems fair enough, $50 or so for 5 years. I get at least that much enjoyment from the site so seems fair.

 

To each their own - but even in the process of logging in as paid (or unpaid) member leaves you to contend with a page that dances around so much from the loading of the ever changing google adds you wind up clicking on the wrong thing. Personally I think its a bad move for the site and agree with OP.

 

Rob said there is a bug in the software that's being corrected.

 

I don’t see this at all. Has this only been happening recently? Have you paid for Silver membership? Have you tried to access from Tapatalk and get the same thing? If you paid and within the last few days logged out and then back in, and are still having ad problems you should PM the admin.

I saw exactly the ads the OP was talking about. They were extremely annoying, to a degree that you couldn't really use the site. The price to subscribe to silver was not much and since I am using the site quite regularly I thought it was fair enough. I subscribed and all the ads disappeared as promised.

 

Seems fair to pay 10 bucks a year for this site....I would of paid it regardless of the adds....this site has been very beneficial to me....

 

I think there is some testing going on with the settings at the admin level for a few days,

I honestly that’s for the price of 3 cups of coffee, everyone should be a paid member here.
We pay so much money for our cars, what’s $15 a year ???
I never saw those ads so I have no idea how annoying they are (even before I had a paid subscription)
