your Welcome :) if you run into difficulties don't hesitate to ask for help ;)
C'one, finally I got my Nascar game and installed all on the PC. Surprisingly for once this stuff actually worked straight out of the box and even more surprisingly it didn't damage the drivers for my other racing sims. That's not an exaggeration, I still have a 24 hours of Le Mans game, that refuses to play at all. Anyway, you did a fantastic job and the P4 looks just fabulous. Of course I'm only driving Jim's #23. I love the glass effect that really gives you the feeling being inside of a cabin. So far I only raced at the Glen, but that's fun enough for starters. Couple of questions: - The add-ons on your website, where do I install them to? What subdirectory? - I turned off all aids to have a more realistic car control. However I managed to blow a tire on just one lap around the Glen. Obviously I'm braking way to hard, but can't manage otherwise. I guess I need to throw in some of your setups? Bottom line: Many, many thanks for this cool sim!
Hi tifosi12 I'm really glad you like it,just remember this is a beta so expect improvements I want this to be so accurate as to be near to an historic/educational document...if I get there is another matter Not sure which addons you mean, but any new cars go in C:N2003/series/330/cars, paintschemes go in "imports-exports" and must be in tga format setups go in "players/"whatever persona your useing"/setups I'm glad you turned of driver aids, as it's by far the best way in the long run...as for blowing a tyre..hmm,are you useing the right .exe(there should be a shortcut on your desktop)are you limited to five gears?is the car light or heavy? I have pm'd you a link to an essential patch that needs to be installed to unlock the physics to this and the TransAm series mods etc Other than that, maybe you need to configure your pedals ingame?if your using a gamepad/joystick or keyboard(non anologue)then light repetative dabs on the brakes are advised. Sorry for takeing so long to reply but I'm a little swamped with this an RL lately...all part of the learning experience !
Steering wheel, shift stick and pedals configured in game and working. It is probably just driver error: I'm used to open wheel racing where I can see the wheels and notice when I'm locking them up then slowly release brake pressure. Have to learn that here obviously. My bigger issue is the sudden game termination.
A gentleman in Savahanna GA, Harrel Fabik, has one of these with a Ferrari V 12. It was very well done, either by Norwood or Capenter. I saw this when I arranged to view his 288 GTO track car, that was also a recreation. He has apparnetly owned most significant Ferraries, for instance, a 250 GTO. I believe the car is for sale.
I guess I figured it out: It's a resource problem. The original games optimizes the graphics for its use, but the P3 mod needs additional resources. Once you're in a race, the other cars eat away at memory and the game terminates. So now I have to either upgrade the system or downgrade some of the graphics settings. Oh well.
Figured it out: Had to turn off the reflections. Actually switched from 3DFX to OpenGL and that did the trick. Awesome sim!
