Oh well, only room for so much useless crap in my head. BTW, there is also some reason why he wrote in purple; but that fact has made a break for it as well.
His signatures are not rare and not as valuable as some folks like to think. I might have a look see if I can find the reason behind the purple ink.
Got my trivial persuit hat on.....something to do with divinity, ego or both? Second guess....he had a part time job as an auditor?
OK, Shame on Scott for not noticing that the "F50" script on the panel between the plenum chambers on his F50 is written in Purple... Shame on all of you that you didn't pick up on the "Dino" script on 246 and GT/4 enamel front nose badge is also purple.
Ummmm, no it isn't. The one that was on the car was just badly heat effected and the black had gone to a dull purple. I ordered a new badge and it came back as black borders with white inside (same as dash badge).
well being keen of eye ....NOT I never really looked at it that close to notice, but yes, the Dino script is in a purple with a purple line around the border as well !!!! Bugger, I had the thing sitting in front of me too
Haven't seen one recently; but yes in all probability. The same thing happened to the badges on my 308 before I restored it. I ended up buying new ones for that as well.
I do have photos but I don't belong in the computer world, as I have NO idea how to post photos etc. etc. (way too old for that stuff)
Err, I think you got sent a dash badge and not a plenum badge.... It's purple, and it's been purple on at least a couple of other cars I've seen, way back when the cars were nearly new too... Maybe we've found another "hand built by craftsmen, no two the same" moment....
Nope. I have all the manuals and CD's for the F50 and ordered it myself. Checked the part when it came in and according to the part label it is the correct badge. If I had the books handy, I would check the # number for the dash and plennum badges. Bet they are the same. I will check tomorrow.
Ok, interested to see for sure... any good close up photo's of assembly line that show better?? I've had several parts delivered over the years, correctly boxed and labelled, that were not the correct, or a superceded part though.
