Does anybody know of a place that can perform a PPI in Cortez, CO? I live in NJ and am not familiar with Colorado -- is there any Ferrari dealer or qualified independent in that area?

Cortez is going to be tough. It's a long way from nowhere, let alone anywhere. Not much there but sand, lizards and a few blades of very tough grass.

I wasnt aware there was a Cortez, CO

I would say have it taken to Dave Helms/Paragon Motorcars or Ferrari of Denver for the PPI.

Alex, are you stating that Dave Helms now working for Paragon? I don't know if that's true or not but if that's true, it's news to me.

I would use Dave or Ferrari of Denver. Other than that, I don't know how many truly qualified guys there are on the Front Range, although I know that Hardtop would know of anyone else.

But Cortez is a long way off. It's highly unlikely that you would be able to get a PPI without towing it to Dave or FoD.

Thats my bad, sorry! I was saying he has the option to get a PPI done from Dave Helms or Paragon or FoD. After reading that I do realize how it read wrong, thanks for pointing that out :)

For whatever it's worth, Cortez is closer to Albuquerque and Santa Fe than Denver.

If you wind up buying the car and driving it home, consider car-camping at nearby Mesa Verde NP. The facilities are absurdly lavish for a National Park campsite (hot private showers, big general store, etc.)

I have a reference for Albuquerque as well as Santa Fe for a PPI if you decide to tow it down there.

    Peter,

I live nearby Cortez, I'm not an expert for a PPI, but if you need someone to go take a look at the car before you close the deal, just let me know. Albuquerque is about a 4.5 hours drive from Cortez, and Santa Fe about 5 hours. I do know of an independent Ferrari mechanic in ABQ, but I have not used him, since I do all my maintenance.

    Regards,

    Milton

    Milton,

It's very generous of you to offer -- I would not want to inconvenience you, but it's not sounding like there are many options. I'll call Ferrari of Denver tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do. The car is a 66 330 GT -- there not many of these to be found, otherwise I would try to find one closer to home. Thanks everybody for the feedback.

    Thanks,
    Peter

I want to thank Milton Souza for taking the time to inspect the car on my behalf. The car I was interested in was 66 330 GT and Milton drive one hour each way to see the car, sent me about 100 pictures, and spent a lot of time on the phone to provide additional detail. This feedback helped me determine that the CO car was not the one, and allowed me to identify the car I eventually purchased in Vermont (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93322 starting at post 16). I might have missed getting that car if not for Milton making himself immediately available to look at the CO car. I'm sure I'm not saying anything new to anyone who knows him, but Milton is an asset to the Ferrari/Fchat community and I wanted to express my gratitude for his help.

    Regards,
    Peter
