https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1985-ferrari-testarossa-c-9200.htm If you have time and are a mechanic this could be worthwhile...otherwise there is at least 30-40k of work at your local garage on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's an odometer reading I don't believe - unless it's 106,837 miles - but the asking price isn't super crazy IMO. Never seen a dash that bad. Do like no mouse belts and no knee pad.
Engine looks like the miles but what’s up with the interior? Edit: I’ll take it back. 7000 miles my arse
That car is a horror show. No amount of blood, sweat, tears and money would be worth it to make that car right IMHO. How anyone can let a car like that go to crap like that is beyond me.
Yes it is an interesting one. What’s funny is that 5-6 years ago u had a pretty good car for that price. My TR which i got in 16 for 97k and 24k miles had previously been purchased at ferrari of atlanta at 18k 5 years before so 2011-2012 for around 60k... The obv values went up before now stabilizing; wish i had a time machine! Now that Dash i dont even know how that is possible... looks like that car was never cared for! I actually repaired my dash buying new replacement parts from Ferrparts and Eurospares. Surprised that they had all the parts I needed and I did the work myself. Not that bad and not too expensive when all said and done.
Hmm... Has to be real mileage, otherwise it would need to be 1,006,837 to wrap around. Obviously needs new interior. Likely needs new paint as it probably sat outside and collected a lot of dust which would eat into the paint. Mechanicals: 6,837 is pretty low mileage.
Sooo....at 6837k miles is when the odo was unplugged? I give Beverly Hills car club credit...they really have no shame lol The grime under the engine says 40k+ miles....and that dash...woah! Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Run... don't walk... I sold my TR with mid 40K miles, and the engine was so clean, you would have never known it had the miles. This car has serious miles and i suspect that the odometer will pulled. Like I said, Run adn don't walk. TR will roll back in price and good example cars will surface again for the good old prices.
I haven't seen that car in person but to me it does look like an honest 6k mile car that has sad outside in teh blazing sun for a long time then had a repaint at some point. Figure $20k for an awesome repaint and another 15k for interior and you're at about what they're going for without the history of having sat around. Not a deal breaker for someone who would do the work over time and could do most of it on their own, but not a major value imo.
Unlikely they will roll back much as they are already in the ballpark. Once they go up they never, never come back to where they were. There is a new low established and its probably 20k higher at least from the old prices.
Here is my take on TRs. 20K higher reflects engine out and other upgrades which many of these cars were neglected in the old days. Years ago when prices were low, most of us found cars that lacked service. Many owners didn't want to drive them because of fear that they will drop in value. Same owners today have TRs fully serviced and unable to get what they think is a fair market value. I am still in love with them and have no fear of driving them until the wheels drop off. TR is not for everyone to collect, or to own for fun run. Once these cars sit around for few more years and engine outs are due, I believe that we will find them selling substantially lower than what they are today. I do love TRs, look at my screen name.
i still dont see the nice examples with proper service records, tool kits, luggage etc will be back in the prices 10 years ago and with less than 2000 of them brought into usa that number is small buy them now and find the best one u can get good luck on your search
