True, that apply the above logic to fuel system repairs....and you end up with a big pile of burned poo. Makes sense to me, not!

Just another thought for the re-use proponents; Each time these are re-used you will be tightening more to get a seal. Think about the cost of the components you risk damaging doing this.
There really is no good reason to re-use them.

My clutch slave cylinder ***** the bed on New Year's day so today I worked on replacing it with a spare. Using the old crush washer as an example I searched around town for the latter half of the afternoon to no avail (Carquest, NAPA, AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts).

Reusing the washer is not an option; pressure = leak, suction = air in system.

All of the specialty shops are closed tomorrow but, fortunately, FoCF is open on Monday (I have the day off).

Yeah, it would be cheaper to stay at home, order online and wait until next weekend... However, a visit to the Ferrari dealer in never a bad thing :)

Although I only need 2 washers (at less than a dollar each) there are numerous applications so I'll stock up.

copper washers are not all equal. I did not like the quality on copper washers from the local parts store. Following an earlier post, heat, quench in water. Then, I polish with a really fine sandpaper on granite. This gets the project going today rather than waiting for new washers to show. This can be repeated indefinitely.

I think I will stick with buying a bag of 10 or so washers for the primary openings and just open the bag up when I need one..

Same (the engine oil drain plug didn't change until late in the 328).
