I have a weird quick flash of my turn signals when they are on. I know this is usually cause by a bad bulb but I just got back from the Hilton Head Concour where I showed the car and all bulbs were checked and they all work. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

When selecting either direction, or is one direction normal and the other direction fast?

Do the hazard lights flash more normally?

I need to check the hazards but it seems they were correct. I'll check today. The quick blinking on the turn signals is for a left or right turns and none of the bulbs are LED. I assume that someone would ask that.

If on both sides, a bad flasher?

I'm not following you on this? If it were a bad flasher wouldn't it be tied to the left or right side that the flasher is on?

Just going from general knowledge of simple non computerized car electrics, every car I ever worked on has one flasher which works both left and right sides. A Ferrari should be no different....but I know better to say that I am never wrong :)

No, the same (single-path) flasher (and the +12V power plus much of the upstream wiring and connections) is used by both sides and the hazard function as BD indicated. If one direction was OK, but the other direction was fast = I'd first suspect a poor contact inside the turn signal switch for that direction. If both directions are bad = could be the flasher, but could also be a bad shared upstream connection. If the hazard flashing is also bad/fast = that would be more evidence against the flasher (but not necessarily completely conclusive).

I just checked and the hazards flash at the same quick rate. Any ideas?

I've got the wiring diagrams and I can begin searching that but do you know where the flasher is physically located? If it is fairly standard I can get a new one or at least check for corrosion and make sure it is physically seated properly. Any other suggestions?

It's mounted behind the fuse-relay panel -- see the figure from Tim in post #2 here:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/boxers-tr-m/487507-hazard-turn-relay.html

It's not a typical older autoparts store 60s-70s "generic", and I can't recall anyone posting a replacement, so please let us know if you do find an equivalent (but like your plan to give it a look/wiggle/reseat first).

As a final update, I replaced the flasher relay and it corrected the problem. It's odd that the old flasher worked but was just too fast. Oh well, at least it is fixed for Cavallino
