Worry not Sergio -- the cheaters have shown how little they respect you. You save the team and they become like this. Their car should not be on the grid. Contrast to Mclaren who are not hiding things from Sainz. One is a professional team with a winning history and the other is owned by a bad tempered, bossy ego.

Sergio Perez is disappointed that some people within Racing Point have started to "hide things" since confirmation of his exit from the team at the end of the year.

Perez announced ahead of the Tuscan Grand Prix earlier this month that he would be leaving Racing Point at the end of the year after the team opted to trigger an exit clause in his contract.

It paved the way for four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel to be signed for 2021, while Perez is now evaluating his options to remain in F1 for next year.

Perez has been with the Silverstone-based team since 2014, initially in its Force India guise before helping save the team and allow for its takeover by the Racing Point consortium in the summer of 2018.

Perez revealed on Thursday that some figures at Racing Point have started to hide information from him, and called for greater transparency to help the team in its bid for third place in the constructors' championship.

"We are focusing on the eight races ahead," Perez said.

"It's going to be so crucial, that we deliver every single point is very important for the constructors' championship.

Yeah, it's outrageous. Racing Point is the first team in 70 years history of F1 to have bent the rules. Oh my, what has the world come to!

Fined and points deducted. Yes others. Currently on the grid with foul parts. Renault forced to remove last year after Cheat Point protest.

Cheat Point should be forced to use last years car. Cheaters.

Perez "disappointed" by Racing point leaks

Sergio Perez has voiced his displeasure at alleged leaks from inside Racing Point relating to certain aspects of his divorce from the team being made public.

The move to replace the Mexican with Sebastian Vettel for next season was confirmed ahead of the recent Tuscan Grand Prix.

Rumours have since suggested Perez found out about his exit after overhearing a conversation involving team owner Lawrence Stroll through thin walls at an Italian hotel, while other murmurs indicated that options within his contract played a part in the decision to release him.

When innocuously questioned on whether he had made any contact with Red Bull ahead of next year, Perez told Sky Sports F1 he is "not the type of guy who shares conversations".

He then added: "I don't think it is fair for anyone. That's why I was a bit disappointed at stuff like that with my contract options and so on came out in the media. I think that is something that has to stay between us.

Brawn with nice words for Perez after Russia -

Racing his way to a comfortable fourth at Sochi, Ross Brawn believes Sunday’s result is proof Sergio Perez “deserves” an F1 race seat.

Perez stood out from his midfield rivals in Sunday’s Russian Grand Prix, taking the chequered flag 30 seconds behind race winner Valtteri Bottas and 22s ahead of fifth placed Daniel Ricciardo.

On a weekend where it had looked as if Renault had Racing Point’s measure, Perez put in a faultless drive to climb to ninth in the standings.

He has 56 points, just one behind his team-mate Lance Stroll – and he did that while being forced to sit out two grands prix.

What Perez doesn’t have, though, is a seat for next season after Racing Point decided to put Sebastian Vettel in the car.

“Perez deserves to stay in Formula 1,” Brawn wrote in his post-race column.

“This was another superb performance from Sergio Perez, who is going through his divorce proceedings with Racing Point.

“He is clearly still hurting after being let go, in favour of Sebastian Vettel, but that does not appear to be impacting his on track form. If anything, it’s motivating him.

“It was even more impressive given the lack of availability of the big upgrade which his team mate Lance Stroll is enjoying.

“To put in that kind performance in those circumstances shows why he deserves to stay in F1.”

Hard to see why Vettel 'deserves' to stay in F1 vs Perez based on the last 3 lines in the article above^^^^^^^^^^^^^

As I noted previously, said update being one presumably carried out completely without Merc data—given how the team is under the microscope—maybe is not giving good results seeing how far back Stroll qualified compared to Perez. So if they don’t get this year’s Merc to copy for next year I think Vettel may be back into a midfield car again.

There is no indication Cheat Point cloning team is better than Mclaren who have Renault engine.

Vettel is moving down in team, status, reputation and pay. He is a joke. Why does he remain on the grid? 4 old titles and knowledge. Certainly not his current performance. He is a JOKE.

Well, it might be a short helicopter flight since they all have their factories near each other. I meant fight of course.

Does anybody know what is really at stake here financially? Obviously the better WCC position a team has, the bigger the year-end jackpot but what does it come down to in real $?

Occasionally I read some stories about Sauber and what one or two additional WCC points meant to them in real Swiss Francs. It seems the payout could be huge, but I have no figures to back that up.

Racing Point to receive FIA warning over Stroll's COVID case

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The Racing Point Formula 1 team is set to receive a warning from the FIA COVID-19 delegate in the wake of Lance Stroll's positive test.
The team is deemed to have failed to comply with the COVID-19 code of conduct protocols established prior to the season by not reporting the result of Stroll's test immediately.

The warning follows those issued earlier in the year to Charles Leclerc, after he returned to Monaco between the two Austrian races, and to Sebastian Vettel for mixing outside his team bubble when he talked to Red Bull bosses Helmut Marko and Christian Horner in the Spielberg paddock.

Stroll was tested on the Sunday of the Eifel GP after returning by private jet to his home in Switzerland, and received a positive result the following day.

It's understood that the FIA did not know about the positive result until this week, shortly before Stroll confirmed that he had tested positive – and was now negative – on social media.

The code of conduct makes it clear that teams and others attending races are obliged to report positive tests.

It says: "Our COVID-19 delegate will also receive updates from the stakeholder if during the covered event or within 14 days at the end of a covered event any circumstances arise (such as a disclosure by the approved test provider relating to you or reports made by you to the applicable stakeholder) that indicate that you may no longer be fit to attend the covered event(s)."

In a change to the code of conduct introduced for this weekend, all attendees are now obliged to take a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of entering the circuit.

Previously, a pre-event test taken on the Tuesday would give the person involved a five-day window – meaning that they wouldn't have to take another test until Sunday.

The extra wording says that tests must be taken "at the earliest opportunity, and no more than 24 hours, following entry to any high density area at the venue".

It's understood that the change was planned by the FIA before the Stroll affair put a spotlight on the COVID protocols.

Racing Point boss Otmar Szafnauer said: "I think it's a good idea that the FIA has said now 24 hours from entering the paddock, you do another test. So we will do that."

The code has also been adjusted to ensure that any team member attending the reintroduced Paddock Club in Portugal cannot return to the paddock itself. It means that teams have to bring dedicated marketing and hospitality staff to host VIP guests.
