430 Radar detector help!

    I had the passport in mine when I got the car. It was older model so I just took the whole system out to avoid issues

    if you get it working .. you may be able to upgrade the software using a USB port and a PC for free .. this made a big difference on my passport for false alarms..
    Lets get thru one thing at a time though .. just lets not lose sight of it
    Just need to figure out main unit . i am sure instructions would tell you how as well

    Found a standalone USB port under the steering wheel , will hook it up to a PC tomorrow

    Sure would have been nice to have some documentation...oh well

    Ok, so when I did as you described, I've got 12V on the cigarette lighter port, I have .0017 on each of the red wires, and pushing the switch makes no difference, so essentially looks like no power to the switch

    The pictured purple and white striped wires are coming from the units in the front bumper, going past the fusebox, I don't see a tap in, and going through the firewall

    I'll have to remove the trunk panels to confirm they are just passing through

    I would.look at internet /forums / escort website for instructions ..that will tell you where the power enters system

    I would bet where the keypad wire goes to is the main unit which will be powered
