Great info, I went to the Radenso website last night and it had a lot of useful information about how their detector differs from the competition. I can now see why it may have fewer false alarms, it appears to have an easier to navigate method of customizing the filtering, than V1. V1 has always had filtering options, but you have to pull out the manual and dive deep into it to figure out what you want to do, all the while Valentine (maker of V1) warns that the more you effectively filter, the less range you have on each band. Radenso posts right up on their site, filtering recommendations (settings) based on your driving style and location. I guess the question is, how much range is Radenso giving up with their filtering methods and recommendations?

Arizonaitalian kind of nailed it in his analysis...V1 can excel in range, but has more false alerts. Passport has fewer false alerts, but less range, those are the trade offs. It will be interesting to see if the Radenso has superior filtering or software to reduce false alerts without reducing detection range.

I wanted to use one detector that was well known and try others not so well known units to compare. This was not designed to be a scientific test, but since I tend to travel the same routes all the time, I could determine which one works best. I keep Waze on my phone open as well. I read a lot of reviews some say the Escort is best, some the V1 and one said the R3 beat them both. Yet another (I think it is even on their website) say the Radenso beat every detector out there, by a lot. I think I have an escort around somewhere, if I can find it I will put it in the Porsche and see how it compares. Not sure how up to date the software is on it though.

He was a fool for flaunting it. I’ve been running jammers since the mid 90’s, on most cars I’ve had, and never had any issues despite hundreds of successful activations. With him, he didn’t deny he had it, and flaunted the fact they couldn’t get his speed. If they ask, you say ‘of course not officer, it’s a garage door opener’ and they can’t do a thing. Thanks for the heads up though. I do remember getting tagged at over 150 by a cop on a motorway once, and he got no reading, slowed to 85, they followed me trying to get a speed, and not being an idiot, I let them keep getting 85, which would just be 3 points, eventually they didn’t even pull me, and left the motorway knowing I had it sussed.

In the UK, whatever the cops say, the law is outright on speeding. If you admit it by even sayin ‘I was a bit quick’ they can nick you without proof of anything. If you state categorically “I don’t know what you mean officer, I was driving at the/within the speed limit”,they MUST prove the speed you were travelling using a calibrated device. The jammer will prevent that happening, and unless you admit you used one, they can’t actually prove it was activated at the time, since their equipment only registers an error code.

Believe me, I’ve been pulled over a hundred times over the years, and they have never ever been able to ticket me for anything, jammer or no jammer. I actually enjoy watching them squirm as I swerve their attempts at threatening me. I could derail the thread if I start telling the stories, but I’ve had fun!

Same here - and never ever say to the nice officer "I couldn't perform this test even if I was sober" or anything stupid like that when being given a sobriety check.

By all means derail the thread or start a new one - I love hearing about TB holding bottles of stripper over new cars and other adventures and I'd hate to have to wait for the paperback version.

Maybe I better start a thread devoted to them.... then one of our resident publishers might want to help me piece it all together. I once had a writer that was willing to do something but at the time i felt it was a bit too soon after certain events to do it, and I might get a little awkward feedback from those that recognised themselves in the tales.

Time bomb is a real card, he’s lethal, but for some reason, absolutely worships me (god knows what for), and I’ve kept him out of the Kermit quite a few times. Mental Mickey is still around now, but is out of his old game and gone straight (made his money, so he could afford too), and a few others are still creaking around like me relishing our old adventures!

I will clarify though, I’m not in any way ‘one of the chaps’, nor was I ever charged with any criminal activity, I’m clean as a whistle. I’m just someone that can move in all walks of life and maintain a reputation for respect, straight talking and minding my own where necessary. As a result, some very interesting things tended to happen around me

The site for the Radenso Pro M makes mention of multi radar detection, but I can't figure out if it has a rear facing antenna. Does anyone know for sure one way or the other?

Well I set all the detectors to city mode and I'm not sure that I will be able to give an accurate rating since there are not any constant spots to I can check the range. I did get a warning from the R3 saying Laser, but I never saw anything. They do at times put up those your speed is ( to remind you, you are speeding) electronic signs on certain suburban roads, I should be able to test these using one of those.

    daytona355,
I wonder if he could not get a reading at > 150 was due to a plausibility check on his radar? I know that it checks your speed twice and both have to be within some mph of each other, otherwise it is deemed non-plausible. I think if you brake hard enough you can decel enough so it won't be plausible
