North American Int Auto show This is a styling concept from Range Rover "Range Stormer is a high performance, sports tourer SUV concept car, which showcases a future design direction for Land Rover and the company?s increasingly bold approach to new technologies." I was informed today that FORD motoring company bought Lange Rover from BMW a year ago ... I've been telling everyone that it was under BMW ... apparently there was a bidding war and FORD won the bid for the company (this is after BMW already owned it and made up the current design that is RANGE ROVER) for X billion dollars ... but BMW said it was going to keep the Range Rover new design and call it the X-7 unless they shelled out an extra ONE billion for it ... so they did and that's the end of my story ... anyone else hear the same thing?
oddly enough, I kinda like it. I'm not a rover fan myself, but it seems that with the rest of the world is catching on the bandwagon of the hot-selling SUV market, they feel they've gotta change their model - for the very first time! (or so it seems)
You probably are required to have the mandatory "walletobotomy" before you can apply for ownership. Next.......................
that thing is nasty! what's with the wanna-be enzo/lambo doors? side vents and rims look like they came straight off an e46 m3!
Its very nasty. I hope they don't produce it. BMW didn't create the image of Land Rover. If anything, they have remained static for the last several decades, what BMW did was a lot more under the skin. In an effort to get rid of the BMW mechanicals from the Rover line, Ford is working on developing alternative power plants since the maintenance contracts and licensing to BMW for the power train are no small sum. They came up with this sharp edged FX Rover design after a bad dose, thats all.
Looks like an updated Sbarro special from the 80's Doesnt matter about the styling it'll still look terrible on the back of the tow truck when it breaks down!
Actually Greg, those of us down here in Cracker land have a whole range of quaint localisms by which we express ourselves. One mere redundancy is typically just a point of beginning! You jive ass mo fo. Dale ps The reason that most folks in BF-Texas have two first names (e.g., Jim-Bob Jumpback) is in case they forget one... Of course, when in doubt you can always whup it out by merely calling out Bubba!
Yeah... My trip to the NYIAS in mid 2003 was both the greatest and most disappointing... The greatest because of the Ferraris and other super cars... The most disappointing because of other cars that looked JUST LIKE THIS ONE...! Ford is watering everything down to look the same... But it's not just Ford...! It's a LOT of car makers... Every "concept" looks just like someone else's concept... It's depressing and downright scarey... Just my two Rubles...
Well we can assume that it is a Styling attempt to get a WOW but will end up going on the road with traditional doors. I do like the idea of a 2 door for something like that but i guess being a fan of the Defender 90 I would....
Plastic works just as well for Bling Bling as chrome... I think I will just keep my POS Rover. It has lasted this long, is the perfect winter vehicle here, and IMHO looks much better than that new thing.
I'm not too crazy about it, but there are uglier things out on the road already. I'll s**t bunnies before they release it with those doors.
