I just thought i'd share this, for other meticulous owners.

This German made oil based permanent marker suits the red key well. Dries fast, doesnt smear and covers all the white exposed chips and scratches. Leaves ur car key looking almost brand new. Cheers!

That's pretty cool, thanks for sharing. My 14 year old keys still look like new, probably because they're not kept on keychains with multiple other keys.

Nice....do you have a "before" pic? Also, were you able to just touch up the chips (i.e., did it match almost perfectly?), or did you essentially just apply a coat to the entire key?

It will undoubtedly get damaged again. I will update a pic here. I do the touch up maybe every 3-4 mths . Weird enough the color matches pretty well. Color in one direction only though

As Long as it’s just paintwork , this will cover it nicely . If there’s actually plastic bits missing that’s different , you would need a filler. Nonethelsss, this is inexpensive and it Beats doing nothing to rectify . Hah!

One more thing to add , surprisingly the level of shine this ink gives is also pretty close to the original . Not 100% , i would say close to 85% similar so it’s not really that noticeable.

I actually had a dream once that I went to Premier to have them "wrap" my red Enzo key so it wouldn't get scratched...

Is there only one shade of red they sell? I’ve seen Schneider Maxx 224M in black, red and blue and assume only one shade of red.

On a side note. I use the black for any scuffs on the leather and also the black grill on the vents, side and front . Heh. If u make any mistake , it’s rectifiable by gentle nail polish remover.
The ink dries fast and does not smudge.

Since we are talking about f430 keys.... mine is missing the rectangular Ferrari logo. Any ideas where I can find another one?

Or..... anyway to get new red housings? That carbon one is pretty neat.

The car is still in storage..... spring has not really started here..... so I cannot get a picture right now. Honestly, I just want to get the rectangular logo, it had fallen off before I bought the car.

Coincidentally, this shop is where i'm from, nationality-wise. They actually fashion/custom with real carbon fiber, hence the cost.

I've seen them do up a Gallardo, and replaced almost everything metal in it with full carbon fiber. Pretty nicely done, but i didnt ask how much that cost. :p
