    Hi,
have like most of us a HVAC panel with bubbles on the surface. And as Ferrari only sells the complete HVAC controller a €1300 did I order the plastic topcover offered via a variety of sparepart specialists (like Eurospareparts or Ricambiamerica). But before I can put the new top cover on......I have to remove the HVAC controller out of the tunnel console. Any-one that can guide me with that? The Eurospareparts explosion picture shows the tunnel console, but not the HVAC-controller nor how it is fixed. Would appreciate if some-one can describe me how the HVAC-controller should be removed out of the 456M tunnel console.
    thanks, Jan

There are only a couple ways to get this out. First is to take the parts off around the shifter and reach up underneath and push it out. It is only held down in there by the pressure of the felt gasket around the thing. The other way is to pull up on the knobs while you put a credit card down the sides to guide it out. The first time it's tough to get out.
Having said all of that, the M does not have the same color HVAC panel as the replacement covers Ricaqmbi sells. Last I heard they were working on a black one, but the non M cars have a silver one, which is what they have. The panels he has are fantastic. I have one on my 355.
Also those little switch covers that go around things on the console are bolted in with little tiny bolts. You need to remove the HVAC panel to take out everything else. It's a big PITA.

So I finally got around to taking apart the hvac panel today and took some pix. The panel is a friction fit but a royal pain in the ass as I think the sticky had welded it in place. I used a thin plastic spackle tool to run around the edge and then had to use trims tools to get under it after time and enough force. I did best to protect the leather surround and hope the slight marks will loosen and fade as I recondition this part this winter.

Once panel is pulled, there are 2 obvious screws that hold down the leather and button inlay. That all comes out easily.

The surrounds on the buttons are also no peach as there is no ratchet or wrench that will fit between the connectors. So used a small set of needle nose to loosen the bolts and wind off by hand.

Anyway, everything out and will be sent to Dave at Sticky RX soon. Hope this helps anyone wanting to get after this in future! Ed
