My Dad always said "You can't win in a p!ssin contest with a skunk." And it's going to be hard for manufacturers and teams who are competitiors to unite to get much done. Is F1 a legitimate series when all teams will be running the same engines? Even if F1 survives, they have emasculated it to the point where the support of traditional F1 fans is questionable. Maybe Ferrari will join NASCAR so they can run their own engines.
And that someone is right, something must be done correct! Bernie and Max are very clever sods, they are have monopolized this sport and have made a packet out of it for long enough. The list is endless of complaints and it always boils down to two factors: money and Bernie, and Max's policing of the sport. They go hand in hand. In my life I deal with these sort of people mainly Max types, I have seen many come and go, they always always cause problems, won't listen to advise or common sense just there blinkered way, invariably it cost's the tax payers alot of money with stupid and idiotic idea's I loathe this sort of person. The best advise I was given to deal with such folk, was to say ""yes Sir" and carry on doing the same as I ever did, they only want to hear that. Usually these type are failed business people with a grudge, that love to think they are powerfull. I always have the last laugh though, believe me I go to great lengths. Ahh sorry I digress. Mosley's agreement with Ecclestone on TV rights for F1 angered three of the team principals in particular: Ron Dennis (McLaren), Frank Williams (Williams) and Ken Tyrrell (Tyrrell), who felt that neither Ecclestone nor the FIA had the right to make such an agreement without the teams. They refused to sign the 1997 Concorde Agreement without increased financial returns and threatened to make a complaint under European Union competition rules. The European Commission was already investigating the FIAs agreement with Ecclestone in what Lovell calls a highly personal and bitter battle between Max Mosley and [EU commissioner Karel] van Miert. We have got this again now. Max cleverly got out of this, over a leakage clause, then Max said he would move the FIA out of europe so he run it as he so wished. Van Miert IMO was on to them, even the Brit goverment got involved with the corrupt pair over a tobacco issue Bernie back handing the PM 1 mil, Tony B had to pay it back. We need rid of them, and anyone or anything that supports this is right in my book.
IMO, the details can and would be worked out. Not saying they would be perfect or ideal at first. The main point though is to get out of Max and Bernie's damaging and destructive control. If doing that means a break away series then so be it.
